Offense is even, lots of weapons on both teams but the Rangers are far better on D and in net with former Norris and Vezina winners. Hamilton is no match to Fox. And Vanachek is not as good as Shesterkin but I really like Vamacek. This would be a heck of a series to watch though.

It’s time to reignite the rivalry. It’s been too long. There are young fans that don’t even realize there’s a rivalry.

And for the record we’re not scared of the old guys you’re gathering.

I really didn't need this.

The Islanders need this.

I wake up on a random Thursday in July mad at the Devils.

Palat over Tatar in the top 6. Palat has 2 cups, and is a beast in the playoffs who steps up. Don’t under estimate that playoff experience that Palat has in a team with a core that is entering the playoffs for the first time ever. Tatar is garbage. He was a pretty good player but not at this point of his career. I wouldn’t have him in the top 6. Palat should be on the top line with Hischier and Meier.

The Rangers are a better team than last year. Shesterkin, though, tilts things in their favour.

Slight edge to NYR currently, NJD catches up and passes pretty easily as each season goes by IMO.

if you watched the Devils you'd before you made that nice speech you'd have known that Tatar and hischier have been gelling really well recently. Perhaps that cools down and Palat goes back to being with hischier. Maybe Sharangovich goes cold and Palat goes on Hughes line.

Things could stay exactly as they are now and he stays on the 3rd line. a Palat-Haula-Mercer line is probably the best or one of best 3rd lines in the NHL.

Nico-Tatar has been an incredible combination and I doubt it’s getting shaken up. Outscoring the opposition 29-8 this year.

I can’t wait for the freaking playoffs, can’t speak towards the rest of the playoffs as the matchups haven’t been confirmed, but these two are the most likely matchups.

Leafs vs Tampa - Rematch of a solid series last year. Teams should play super tight games. Winner will be from narrow margins. Tampas got the goaltending in Vasi, he’s probably the difference maker for them. Leafs have added depth and toughness in the lineup, i can’t see a situation where this doesn’t go to at least 6, probably 7

New York vs New Jersey - the offence in this series is gonna be fire. I have NYR a bit ahead, mainly due to Shesterkin. It’s a down year but dude when on is lights out. All the adds made are gonna make huge impacts. How will Kane do on a better team? How do Hughes hischier and co do in the playoffs? How does Meier fit the team in the playoffs? All questions that should be answered in coming up. This also is a series that should see the teams going punch for punch in a 6-7 game series

Problem is Tatar has been terrible in the playoffs. 12 points in 40 games, and he has been benched a few times during them. if he continues that trend then they probably could make the swap

That is an if though, maybe playing with hischier rejuvenated him and it continues in to the playoffs

I’m not very concerned, I think that narrative has gone too far. The small sample before he was benched in MTL he was still getting 60% of shot attempts, the puck just didn’t go in.

For his whole playoff career his on ice shooting percentage is super low. He just needs to be a good supportive winger, he isn’t asked to carry a big offensive load.

It'll be a tough series to call. The Devils big guns don't have much playoff experience and the Rangers top 6, while on paper made huge upgrades, need to prove they can find some chemistry.

Playoffs is a completely different world compared to the regular season. It wouldn’t surprise me at all to see the NJ Devils struggle to score in the first round once your time and space that you had in the regular season is now all gone. Things tighten up big time in the playoffs and small centers usually don’t fair well.

Nico isn’t small. Jack Hughes is one of the best players in the league and will continue being one of the best players in the league after game 82.

Eh idk about that as a Ranger fan. They do have more experience but idk about better.

And NJ prob has the best player between the teams in Hughes who can take over games, close between him and Fox but might lean toward him ribjt now.

Have to see what he does in playoffs though. And if you know anything about Ranger Devil rivalry in particular, anything can happen
I agree him and Fox are the two best skaters. Man I’m nervous and we still have a few weeks of regular season left lol

The Rangers are a better team than last year. Shesterkin, though, tilts things in their favour.
The team may be better but, as a rangers fan, I have to say, shestekin was a better goalie last year than this one by far. So maybe it evens out.
