As a Pens fan I love when these 2 get together, I still think the 94 ECF was the best playoff series to this day. It would be nice if we could have Rangers, Devils, Islanders, Pens, and Flyers make it out one year and just go at it in an Epic East playoff.

Devils have no pressure and that could be a big factor. Last year we were in the same position and managed won in 5 elimination games and rally to ECF. If it wasn't Trouba taking Crosby out we would have lost the series. There was talk about how penguins are old and slow but playoffs are different.
Now Kane and Tarasenko aren't on the same level but it's not like they're the only ones to make impact. The group knows what it takes to win a playoff round and adding players who have history of taking over a series is a big deal. Now it's up to Gallant to put the pieces together.

Will come down to puck management for the Rangers. If they play thinking it's going to be a series of All Star games, turnovers, not being hard on the puck, no defensive commitment, they will lose. (Tarasenko, Kane, Panarin are not really the players one thinks of to help with those areas)
If they actually play smart hockey, and their special teams hold up, this series probably still goes to 7.

My heart says the Devils are slightly faster and better, but the head says the Rangers experience, stellar goalie, and defense may turn the tide. I think it's at the minimum a 6 game series. Probably 7.

Man the way Rangers fans talk now you could swear they're ahead of the Devils in the standings and head-to-head matchups.

It's a fact though. Devils have the 3rd best record in the league and have played the Rangers well this season. We'll see how the matchup later this month goes as well, since there will be new additions to each team.
It's a toss-up between these two clubs. For all the talk about lack of playoff experience for the Devils, weren't the Rangers that club last season before taking out two clubs with vast amounts of playoff experience?
Devils teams of the past decade don't mean shit for this matchup.

Well I don't think any Devils fan was expecting the team to have this kind of success this year and I can't understand why some people feel the need to crap on the Devils. We are just enjoying the season.

Again, what are you basing this on? The Devils have better offensive numbers and defensive numbers than the Rangers this year.
Yes, I realize Shesterkin has the potential to be the best goalie in the world, but he has not been that guy this year.

Oh, great. A thread for NJD and NYR fans to continue taking jabs at each other because the Kane trade is over.
This thread reminds me of last years playoffs when in almost every thread many people picked against the Rangers. Rangers will sometimes feel like they have home ice in both buildings.
Even through the TV you could loudly hear Shesterkin being taunted by Devils fans at MSG.
There’s going to be a heavy mix of fans at both arenas.

No offense but through the years NJ has had a lack of fans compared to NY so I will take that chance.

More like cause feelings of STRESS "for the ages".
Both fanbases will be gnawing at their fingernails or whatever they do at every shot attempt, every hit, and second of every game.
This is one series where emotions will run high and then be completely drained by the end of it.
