can't believe some people on the main boards are actually dunking on Nosek now. The guy was struggling to get off the ice!

Our roster is awesome (even the D, goalies meh), don't kid yourself. We just need to click. This sport is all about attitude, confidence and chemistry. It will come soon. We are better than last year, way better. Mark this post.

It’d be one thing if he was like Sandin a couple weeks ago and came back for his next shift after playing dead to get a whistle - dude missed the rest of the game! That’s pretty elaborate playing out if it was a fake lol

I am not sure the goaltending issues can be overcome. The defense is gonna have its breakdowns due to the systematic scheme and won’t be bailed out. So unless it gets addressed, I just don’t know how this is all gonna play out. And even forgetting the .500 record for a moment, my concern over how this game played out is the teams psyche. Sometimes shit like this when you are already reeling a little bit can really have a bad impact.

They are 6-3-1 with Jack in the lineup. They will play enough crappy teams to make the playoffs if they stay healthy.

Once again, why are we sitting here 16 games in and Vitek is on pace for 56 starts and 62 games played? Why has he gotten over two thirds of the starts? It surely can’t be because he’s been much better than Akira.

And why give the Rangers the satisfaction of throwing their favorite blow up doll out there yet again? They’re probably more angry he got benched after game 2 than he is.

We literally have to play close to a perfect defensive game just for him to allow only two goals. Or we have to play some team that sucks and can’t score like Chicago and Minnesota.

One thing I'll say it's clear this team shows up versus whoever is on the rink for them. Coaching staff has to wake them up for those bad teams. The 2 Caps games are prime evidence that they don't show up for any opponent.

I feel ya. And I can tell you are in a similar state of mind as I am. Where you are so aggravated you can’t help but keep repeatedly pointing out some of the ridiculous things going on. I

Or it can be a motivator. They didn't get dominated tonight. They played a good hockey game, missing some top players and having 10 forwards. At some point those guys will come back and the guys will click.

Not everything has to be doom and gloom and the worst case scenario everytime.

I mean both Caps games were shitty goaltending performances. Which is baked into the stat above. They are playing .700 hockey with Jack in the lineup.

If they can stay/get healthy they will be fine. They should still be a playoff team. Maybe not a division winner or home ice, but a playoff team. And frankly if they are in a playoff position they will be making a trade for a goaltending so it will be the old it doesn’t matter what their seed is thing because that would be a game changer .

It’s bullshit and I have no clue why it’s happening.

Is the plan to shelter Akira and not play him hardly at all? Then what the f*** is he doing here? Why was he one of the two goalies penciled in for the NHL team this year?

Just play more of him. Vitek is clearly damaged good here.

It’s clear that we’re now in irreconcilable differences.

Well said, agreed on all accounts. Everyone knows the Devils get a goalie and this roster is finished construction wise. From here on out, it's coaching which I'm sure will also rear its ugly head with Lindy's inability to make adjustments when the time comes.

Lmao, the Devils core beat this piss of a Rags team in the biggest spot of the sport last year. But yeah, I'm sure a 5-3 L in November is going to derail this season
I remember the goalie that went 3-1 with a .951% and 2 shutouts against them in that series.

Good times.

I wonder where he was tonight? I think I saw a guy that looked like him sitting on the Devils bench in a ball cap, opening and closing the door.

if someone had a crystal ball right now and told me they were for sure a playoff team at the end of this season, I honestly wouldn’t give a shit about where they finished or how they got to it or complain about game by game nonsense. Don’t even need them to be “better” than last season.

I’ll always disagree. Grown men should not need another grown man to tell them to do their job that pays them very well. They should know by now what to do.

There aren’t that many truly crap teams in the NHL and they only play the Sharks twice
I’m sure we’ll lose to them at least once. I

I can already see Blackwood outplaying Vitek, especially if he’s pissed they chose Vitek over him.

Or maybe he’s not that mad or embarrassed about it and will play like Vitek did in his first chance against the Rangers after they embarrassed him last Spring and Schmid embarrassed him even more by going 3-1 with a .951% and two shutouts while he watched us come from the bench.

100%. That concept always seems weird to me. These guys are pros that are paid millions. Just go out and play hard. Thee coach shouldn't have to tell you that.
