I guarantee you're not noticing when other teams do this. Would I argue the Devils do this more than other teams? Probably, but that's also because Jack Hughes is traditionally really, really great at it, and it's part of what makes him an exceptional player. Bratt's really good at it too.
Artemi Panarin is famously very committed in the dzone

At some point, I suspect they make a small move. One of the Montreal goalies, Kahkonen in San Jose, or lankinen from Nashville or something like that.
Kahkonen is for the Euro leagues. I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t even be a particularly good goalie in the KHL.

Minnesota propped him up, as they did for many of their goalies. Remember when Dubnyk was putting up elite numbers for several years? Or when Alex Stalock resurrected his career after washing out to the AHL?

Same thing for Kahkonen. I can’t see him being much better here than in San Jose.

He’s also one of the laziest shit heads I’ve seen playing goal. I’ve noticed so many times where he just gives up and stays down or on his belly.

It’s no guarantee, because there’s a lot of bad goalies in the league that still haven’t washed out, but it wouldn’t surprise me to see him go the way of Koskinen after this year. Wash out of the league and go to one of the lower Euro leagues like one of the Scandinavian leagues.

100%.

Unfortunately, I just don't see a likely option for acquiring a real goalie in season, so I think that Fitz will continue the quantity / hot hand approach and just try to give the team an additional body who may manage to catch fire.
I just wanna see the other guy get more games.

After last night Vitek is on pace for 62 games and 56 starts. That’s more than he got last year.

That pace will likely not sustain itself, but I came into this year thinking we were gonna be playing him less than last year, unless Akira was just really bad. And he has been bad, but so has Vitek and in significantly more games played.

I wouldn’t put stock into a pace with goalie starts. If Vitek flounders in more starts, he won’t get as many games. Schmid will get his at bats soon enough. The schedule has been pretty spread out so far too.

Since I broke my GDT cherry I think I’ve shaken the stagefright and have some interest in making more.

I actually have better ideas than this one.

The next one will tell a story, rather than a back and forth conversation between a Rangers sympathizer and a turncoat.

These characters will indeed be part of my next GDT (whenever that is) but they will be part of a story and not a long text of conversation exchange.

I also have an idea for one on the same concept, though featuring none of these characters, but Devils goalies. Surprise, surprise.

And I also have an idea for one that features appearances from Devils goalies of past and present.

So yeah, I have about three different GDT’s worth of ideas. This is actually more fun that I thought. I only wish I had done this earlier.

By the way, didn’t we have a M.A.S.H. themed GDT? I’m not actually a fan of the series, though I like the idea of a GDT based around it with our players. It could feature the theme song that everyone knows, as well as pics of all of the hurt players being carried off the ice. Nosek last night gave me that idea.

But the other ideas I have are more of a priority and better than that one.

Just so you realize that when these former posters speak to you you shouldn’t answer back.

I know I am way late to the party here, but what was the % of Ranger fans at Prudential on Saturday and how did it compare to last season or normal?

based on tv and the fan response much higher ranger fan % than normal.

which makes sense because the tickets were stupidly expensive, priced way higher than any other home games. it’s like they don’t want devils fans there
