Post-Game Talk: Rangers @ Caps Game 5: see you on sunday

It's a serious problem when you know your teams going to OT in a playoff game and you know they're not winning.

Every time this happens. EVERY TIME! WE NEED OFFENSE YOU IDIOT BEHIND THE ****ING BENCH!!! WHAT KIND OF TEAM JUST LETS THE OTHER TEAM WALTZ IN AND FIRE ON ALL CYLINDERS AT THE BLUE LINE? BE AGGRESSIVE? YOU HAVE TO SCORE TO WIN! idiots. I hate the fact that they play like this.

Torts: Play moar Pyatt.

You see where im going at.

I think Clowe brings confidence to the rest of the lineup. It definitely helps the forechecking. His absence is hurting them big time.

I stated this during the game..Staal and Clowe..Plus a healthy Nash...him going ass up towards the net twice in this game makes no sense...Like he couldnt shoot...never saw him do this during the season...He usually crashes to the net...

I feel physically sick, can't imagine what's going through Hanks head. He deserves so much more.

Yes, the goalie with a 3-9 career playoff overtime record who was given a 1-0 lead and faced a whopping 33 shots has nothing to do with playoff failures.

Everybody has a piece in this. Nobody is above blame. This "Poor Henrik" garbage is for little kids who still believe in Santa.

Who cares? THere was a dive and it was not called. There was some serious roughing by Ribs and it was not called. These were both in direct view of the ref who was watching the whole time.

I would agree with you if the ref only saw the retaliation. That would just be a fact of life. This was not that at all, which is why it's such a horrible display of reffing.

If I had to guess, I would bet that the ref was worried that the Caps were called for too many penalties. Some weak ass, ******** excuse like that.

Boyle's slash was a penalty. I have no problem with that being called without a dive on Riberio.

What I have a problem with, is the Capitals basically being allowed to do anything they wanted after they tied the game. There was some serious ice tiling in the third.

Not saying the Rangers pathetic power play would have scored, but the calls may have slowed the Capitals pressure and allowed the Rangers to claw back into the game.

A good team comes back from multi goal deficits, banks in PP goals, doesn't have periods with only 3-5 shots on goal.

This team ain't going anywhere but to the golf course.

So many feels for Brassard.

Best player in the playoffs, and seems like Torts killed him because of the turnover.
That's how he ruins players. If they make a mistake, he demoralizes them so hard

Torts did what? What happened? I didnt see what happened... Did he really yell at Brassard?

He's been pretty much our only consistent source of offense. Point the fingers at Nash and Richards for not showing up not our only offensive threat.

I can't have an opinion?

The Rangers have lost all three road games thus far and had, literally, maybe five or six good scoring chances in those games. They've scored twice. They are something like 0-for-12 on the PP. They have given up a PP goal in each of their away games.

Have you seen anything from this team that indicates they'll be able to win a game on the road? I certainly haven't. And I'm generally one of the more positive people here — I'm just being realistic, at this point. This team doesn't forecheck on the road. They sit back, lose every puck battle, and in general play sloppy, uninspired hockey.

Bring last year's team back, at least I knew that team was always going balls-to-the-wall. This team seems so fragile.

The team is fragile. THEY HAVE ZERO BALLS LEFT! NONE!!! They left them in the regular season.

How many times a year is that same exact call made? So many times. You act like it's so unheard of for someone to get away with one and the guy who retaliates goes to the box. Happens all the time. It's a dumb selfish penalty.

I'm with you here - the refs always see the 2nd thing, not the first, and it's called all year long.

Yep. This is a point I was going to make myself, actually. We always see people complaining about getting trapped in the zone. But Hank is not eating the puck up like he has done in the past. He's always been mediocre with rebounds, but he's been outright bad lately with them. It's getting our team tired, it's getting more shots on him, and it's hurting our offense as well.

If he can just get his rebound control back to mediocre it would be a huge help for this team. We'd still be trapped sometimes, but at least we could get a whistle at times.

I love Hank, but he has some very real flaws. I think the glove hand is just never going to improve, but I'd like to see his rebound control get back to what it was a couple of years ago.

You love Hank so much that you criticize him after every loss, or outright blame him.:help:

Richards has to go yesterday. For the love of God, no more big ticket free agents. It does not work for this franchise.

Whats scary is that sather will bring in another FA bust after he buys him out. Its like an never ending cycle with him.

Is Richards even still a NHL caliber player anymore?

I actually believe that he is in decline. It's nothing to do with a long summer. He has slowed, and though never a speedster, he will not get his game back to where it was.
I stuck with him through the season, but have seen what I need to see. I won't make a career of looking for the good stuff, when you have to look that hard, it's fairly clear that there is not much to be uncovered.

I can't wait until I never have to see ****ing Brad Richards on a power play again. Torts really makes some ****ing stupid decisions. Brass and Moore play great... Play Richards and Del Zotto on first unit PP!!! And Nash and Callahan go **** yourselves.

Just some venting, I'm still optimistic about winning this series. We can't have Boyle taking dumbass penalties like that but good lord Ribeiro what a dive. Might have been worse than Ovechkin's. So of course he scores the gwg, meth head looking loser.

Um, that hasn't worked at all. The PP is poor because of bad personnel management by Torts and the lack of a PP triggerman on one of the off points.

Callahan has been mostly awful this entire series (I thought he was good last game - that's about it).

Agreed.

I can't wait until I never have to see ****ing Brad Richards on a power play again. Torts really makes some ****ing stupid decisions. Brass and Moore play great... Play Richards and Del Zotto on first unit PP!!! And Nash and Callahan go **** yourselves.

I would really like to see Richards and Moore on the point with Nash, Brassard, and Clowe (if he can get healthy) up front. I actually like Richards on the point with Moore because Richards can feed him the puck.

I just hate Richards and Del Zotto on the same unit. They do not mesh.

Karma will hopefully be a ***** for Ribeiro. Dude is a disgrace to the game.

I think Clowe brings confidence to the rest of the lineup. It definitely helps the forechecking. His absence is hurting them big time.

Completely agreed. This team is a different team when he is in the game.

I understand why many would be upset with the lack of production from Nash, but give the guy a break, he's being double sometime triple teamed. Also could be nursing a groin injury. On top of that Tortorella's stupid defe...nevermind

Hey Ovenchicken the Hart finalist has been held down as well.

On a postive side, Moore has played great for being a young defenseman having his first go around in the playoffs. Fundamentally sound and has so much poise. Doesn't panic at all. Torts just needs to leave him on the PP for the whole two minutes. Just kidding about that, but he and Brassard are the key components to it.

This team can be awesome next yr. The first thing to do though is buyout The dirty big tooth beaver.
Spend that cap space on anything with heartbeat for instant upgrade. We have our 1 and 2 centers now anyway.

We were terribly outplayed and to my eye the took far to many liberties with no response. There isa snowballs chance in hell this team goes all the way as is currently.Brassard has proven a great find who produces in the playoffs which is great.

Guys, when the Rangers lose a game and I am tempted to post something unintelligent in the PGT that's likely to get me in trouble, I donate to a charity of my choice instead and feel ******* awesome about it.

Tonight: Coalition for the Homeless :handclap:
