I thought Panarin actually looked really good.

He was physical, backchecked, and had some really nice passes botched.

I just think he was trying to pass too much at times. When Zibanejad and Strome have their games where they decide to call in sick, he has to just take it to the net.

He got worse as the game wore on.

@Loki Dog 74 , I'm not ringing the alarm bells on Lafreniere yet, but if he's still looking like this in January and is sitting with 10 points in 40 games, then yes, I'll start to worry.

Kakko looks like he belongs in the top 6 at least. He's putting himself in positions to make opportunities happen. The points will come for him. Strome looked nervous and Zibanejad and Panarin were mentally still on summer vacation.

Georgiev, Tinordi, Miller, Lindgren, Lafreniere were all awful. These games happen, but as long as it doesn't become a trend of looking like a Dark Ages team from 2000-2003 then I'm not going to worry....yet.

i thought Lafreniere was fine, his whole line was bad. Kakko was the best forward in the game not named Ovechkin. not worried about either of them.

They all did.

That goes back to the problem where it's a young team and the veterans are kinda just...well, they have their games.

We're working on that.

It was widely reported that they were naming a captain and then they just didn't and pulled some other stunt. That's pretty telling.

I wouldn't be surprised if they sign a guy to be their captain a la Rob Blake on the Sharks if nobody emerges by next summer.

Also, when did @Doctyl / @dactyl get unbanned? Welcome back man, I remember you from years ago.

Now let's get @supersonic monkey and @Forechecker back here and now we're cooking with gas.

georgiev isn't an NHL goalie, this should have been a 2-1 game late in the third

send miller to the AHL and call up jones, dude is completely lost

shoot tinordi into the sun
He was fine tonight lol he gave up 6 goals on 25 shots lol If that is fine we are in a load of trouble

A lot of tonight left me feeling optimistic. They looked more mature, physical, and structured than last year. Kakko and Laf have taken clear steps upward. And they controlled the dots.

Georgiev couldn’t stop a beach ball and that had an impact. Why did they start him? If it’s because there is a home game tomorrow, I can’t get behind that thinking.

Kaako and Blais were good. Everyone else was bad.

Ziba was invisible. Kreider getting the tip in just to spite me because he was worthless this game.

Tyler Wall hopefully will be ready maybe in like a 2014-15 Talbot introduction this year because Georgiev is going to be out of the league after this season if not sooner.

Just stop being a %$%$% and call up Kravstov and dump Hunt. But we know that won't happen.
You had me until "dump Hunt". I thought he was fine. He wasn't noticeable out there in a negative way, and in a game like this, it's a net win.

Joe Pavelski on line 1

its been like 4 years lol
LMAO shows how much I pay attention. That one letter change in your username apparently made you invisible to my radar until now. I haven't really been around much the last four years. This is probably the most I've been posting here since the Rangers were last actually good over five years ago.

I wouldn’t say optimistic, but they were fine until they started taking penalties. That’s correctable

oh the name has changed a couple times...tried to rebrand after the 1OA pick and that got too confusing with other people having the same idea. So back to the iconic name now

I haven't been as active as when I was a shithead also the rangers have made me not want to be as active

Also, Gallant is right, we were fine for 30 minutes. It got away from us and he has to get a grip on that. He will.
I mean, he's right. As annoyed as we all are, the team looked good the first half of the game. Carrying play at 5v5 up until about the halfway mark of the 2nd or so. Stay out of the box and this game looks different.

At the end of the day it's a team with a new coach, new system and a third of the roster is new players. They played against a veteran group that returned basically the same roster and staff as last season and they have one of the best PPs in the league and we put them on the PP all night.

They'll get it together, just hopefully it doesn't take too long.

I still think back to starting 2-7 in the 2013-14 including back to back blowouts to SJ (Hertl/Biron game)and Anaheim. Then we ended up making it to the Final that season. Not saying we're doing the same this year, just that sometimes a new coach/system/roster takes some time to gel.

What disappoints me the most is that with a new coach we end up with the same old crap.

Tinordi over Nils.
Georgie over Igor.
Four righties on the PP.

How many games do we give KAM before playing Jones ? He looked awful.
Gallant didn't watch us last year like we did.

I think it's fair that he see some of what presumably works before he tinkers. By no means was our PP bad last year in terms of efficiency.

If this is still happening a few weeks in, then I'll take issue with it.
