Post-Game Talk: Rangers @ Boston

Crazy thing about adversity in hockey... IT HAPPENS! I'm not going to take away from the effort the Rangers gave in the first 55 mins. The Rangers got back to their game and got the 2 pts.

Win a couple more and no one is even thinking about this.

Do people realize what our center depth looks like if we buy out Richards?

Stepan
Miller
Powe
Boyle

Thanks, but no thanks.

I was just talking about this. Unless we can add at center, we need him. Also, he's not as terrible as people are making him out to be. Right now, believe it or not, we need him.

The only other solution is Getzlaf who is no better imo and will make alot more money.

Chalk this game up to the difficult opponent. There's a reason why the Bruins are considered one of the best teams in the league. And I'm sure Bruins fans would mostly say that they only needed to come back furiously because they were playing a team also considered one of the best in the league.

Shooutout win. I will take it. Not all games will be pretty.

Not that I'm advocating it, but I haven't seen any posts saying that we should buy him out and then leave our center group as is.

Who are we getting that's any better? 80 point centers don't grow on trees.

I'll stick with the 60 point center and not take the risk of not being able to replace him.

So I'm curious--Why has Del Zotto been completely banished from the power play? I get that it hasn't been working and Torts might want to try some things, but MDZ has had all of 1 second of power play time over the course of the last three games.

I suppose it would be one thing to keep him off if the PP suddenly started clicking, but there has been no change. Keeping your best PMD off of a dysfunctional power play for an extended period is just stupid--especially considering how well Del Zotto started this season.

Almost a disaster. Played good enough for me. That collapse won't happen more than once this season. Rangers got their two points and got out of there. Still things to improve, but lots to love.

last time I checked...hand passes were not legal in the offensive zone. Refs gifted the Brooins a point.

THIS! I thought I was crazy for being the only one who saw it. The puck clearly hit Lucic's(?) hand before deflecting to Horton on their second goal. If that is looked at its a no goal.

We must share the same brain. I was discussing that as well. He'll be the new whipping boy guaranteed. He won't put up 80-90 points either.

Surely he won't. He's basically another Richards at this point in his career, and we won't have the connections we did with Richards to get him on a steal of a contract compared to what others were offering.

I had a post ready to start with points about how I thought Richards wasn't skating hard enough and not doing things I'm used to seeing in a Rangers uniform (yes just after one season)

Then I realized that he has 9 pts in 12 gms, and that if he's doing this while I'm seeing him performing subpar - I'm ok for now.

It that were the tying goal, I'd be on board with all of the outrage over the puck hitting Lucic's glove. But we failed to prevent them from scoring the tying goal AFTER that. We failed to clear the puck. So while it would be nice to blame the refs, I don't buy it.

That's a good way of putting it. I agree.
