Post-Game Talk: Rangers @ Boston

We did this once early last year, and we lost that game.

It didn't happen again. It's not gonna happen again this year.

Its funny MTL had a 3-0 lead on TB as well...and MTL needed a shootout to beat TB 4-3....must be a full moon....hahahahaha

Not sure I agree. Bruins made some stupid plays and the Rangers benefited off of their mistakes, but the game was hardly dictated by the Rangers. Bruins realized that shots from the point won't beat Lundqvist, dirty gritty gameplay will and that's what scored them some goals at the end. Take away Rask's softy, add in Boychuks crossbar shot and Bergeron's breakaway and it's a different game. (of course, Nash's post too). It was an even affair chance and speedwise, Tuukka just played like poo-poo.

I agree that the B's were lucky, they dug themselves a hole. But the Rangers didn't look like a dominant team out there.

Either way, I love your team. Good luck in the rest of the season. Lundqvist is my favorite goalie in the league.

Pretty much my assessment too. Rask is a really solid goaltender, and the Rangers benefited from an off night from him.

B's outshot us 40-29, and those shots are indicative of the play. I thought the Bruins had the better of the play and the only reason we were winning was because of Lundqvist and poor goaltending by Rask. Then the B's get some bounces at the end, and it's a new game (and based on the play they took to the Rangers they probably deserved the point).

I can only imagine how much fun this board was during that third period

I have a sneaking suspicion Torts is going to go back to Boyle on Thursday, citing the end of the game defensive breakdowns. But 3-0 without him in the lineup (NOT SAYING THAT BOYLE BEING OUT OF THE LINEUP IS WHY THE RANGERS ARE 3-0, CALM DOWN PEOPLE), if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Nice to take the season series against the B's. I think that might not be the last time the Bruins and Rangers face each other this season.

Nash's goal in the shootout and that assist....

Oh my.

We got the 2Pts...3 game win streak..our schedule looks great the next 3 games...all at home with rest inbetween against teams that arent that good...LGR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We may have more W's, but we tied the Bruins for points in the season series 4-4.

What a disaster this was. Completely unacceptable to blow a 3-0 lead in the third. Bucktooth Beaver Brad Richards looks lost out there. I'd seriously consider amnestying him this summer. Still time for him to turn it around, but boy is he slow.

Ah well. Take the two points and run.

And yes, I will continue to fully type out Bucktooth Beaver Brad Richards.

You know .... games like this happen ... but what's important is how you react and rebound and get focused. The way the played in OT ... that said it all for me.

Stepan, Cally and Hank
HM- Nash and Hags

We need somebody mean on that 4th line (or we need to see if McIlrath can play at this level--who knows? Miller didn't seem ready from his Hartford play. Maybe lightning strikes twice).

i think boyle might be back even though we are 3-0. I think miller is gonna go down after next game. He was pretty bad tonight. I still dont understand why he kept getting more icetime than CK who was very good on defense tonight

The team played too safe tonight, but fortunately, they came away with 2 points... Can't afford to give another team an extra point going forward. Especially not with a 2 goal lead and under 2 minutes left. Inexcusable.

Bruins always put up tons of shots against us. It's because we let them bombs away from the point. Often, it doesn't accomplish anything because Hank easily stops those 99% of the time.

We won a game we deserved to win.

Definitely a frustrating game. There were too many long stretches where the Rangers were pinned in their own zone. The Bruins are amongst the best in the league when it comes to board play and puck pursuit, and the Rangers aren't as good as in those areas as they were a year ago.

Also, I can't believe the Bruins' PP percentage is almost as bad as ours - they look worlds better than us on the PP.

I can see that as well.

However, who does he replace?

he is going to have games like this, they havent lost with him in the lineup............they wont change that and its obvious Miller is going over 5 games this yr whether it be right away or later in the yr.

i honestly didn't think miller was that bad. he wasn't as explosive, but he wasn't bad. thought kreider played an alright game as well-- he definitely was moving his feet more, just not syncing up with people
