Love the attitude that JT Miller plays with. You can just tell the kid is winner. Going to be a great player for the Rangers.

Depends on the definition of great. But I think he will be a solid contributor for hopefully a long time. 45-50 point player type.

I think the lockout hurt him as well as Torts benching him even after small mistakes. talent was always there now teh confidence/edge is there. talbot is gives us the oppurtunity to rest Hank more down the stretch

Agreed.

And when we brought him back up I was against it. Thought he needed more time down there. He's proving that he belongs. Finally using all the natural gifts and advantages that he has. The size, speed and talent. We're finally getting a chance to see it. Feels good man. Feels good.

The thing I'm loving about Kreider's play is that I think he woke up and realized "Well ****, I'm 6' 3" and 226 pounds and an athletic freak of nature, I might want to use these advantages on my weaker opponents". And boy is he ever doing that. He hasn't been Lucic but he's been playing like a schoolyard bully. Against the Habs Andrei Markov was skating away from him trying to avoid him but Kreider wouldn't let him go and crunched him. He was an immovable object from the front of the net tonight, him standing firm in front of Nabby made that McDonagh goal happen. He's hitting everyone and he's hitting frequently. That beautiful speed doesn't hurt either.

I didn't think he should be called up, but this plate of crow tastes delicious.

I get this feeling that Pouliot decided he better start being noticed for something out on the ice, before he got shipped somewhere. I have a bad memory, but that game where he took the penalty for hitting somebody from behind into the boards looked to me like he had more purpose.
I'm not making him into something he is not, but he has been contributing lately.

I agree for sure, good points all over.

Those games could have been his NHL career, like seriously. And all of a sudden it was like he got "that" and started playing like. Good job by whatever people got to him too.

Big win!
1st line was awesome, Kreider is gaining confidence by the minute. Zucc and Stepan feeding Kreider could be lethal. Powerplay without MDZ is awesome. Also like Zucc on it, he always know what to do with the puck when he receives it, makes the PP faster. Pouliat had a good game. Nice to see Talbot with another good game.

Loved the passion and energy in this game. Kreider looked the business again, Talbot solid. The PP was good and Hags looked OK. Now we have to build on this!

our pp is 16th in the league. have to give AV and Arniel some credit for turning a disaster into an average pp

For all the love pouliot is getting lets not forget that he should have had at least one more. Maybe two more last night. Shoot the ****ing puck.

They played well. Now the real test for this team is to not have a stinker against a pretty bad Sabres squad. No letdown. I'm not even close to sold on this group yet.

Anyone who doesn't think Hagelin makes a difference or is a game changer needs to have their head checked.

Only downside is losing Moore. Hopefully he's ok.

They're off today, Pack play tonight so it'll be interesting to see if anyone gets a call. Probably Powe because he can play center and they're not gonna yo-yo Fast back and forth. Would like to see what Lindberg or even Yogan can do as a center.

anyone know where i can watch a video of the pentalys or at list the too many men on the ice one?

Why? It was obvious. They had video of capuano basically telling Weight after yelling at the ref that he knew it was legit. Wasn't even close.

Am I the only one that thinks Pyatt-Dorsett-Boyle made a pretty solid 4th line?

Yes. At ES they sucked. On for both goals against and generated few chances. Dorsett can play; the other two? Not so much except on the PK.

CK has good vision in the offensive zone. Makes alot of subtle little passes that lead to scoring chances. He is underrated in this regard.

Tuesday could have been a coming-out party for new Islander Thomas Vanek. Maybe some other time. Tuesday could have represented a step for the Islanders. Maybe some other time for this team that has won only four of its first 12 games, with only the addition of three losers’ points puffing up the start.

It is an exaggeration to suggest Tuesday was a coming-out party for Kreider. He had his a couple of springs ago. But that turned out to be a cameo. He wasn’t ready when the lockout ended last year and wasn’t quite good enough to earn a spot out of camp this year before he was recalled in the wake of injuries to Rick Nash and Ryan Callahan.

Kreider has played four games since the promotion. They represent the four best games of his embryonic career. He is playing with a purpose, using his speed, living in the dirty areas of the ice, competing for pucks, going to the front of the net essentially every trip down the ice.

AV is using Kreider like Carlyle uses JVR. AV used Kesler that way too. He had JT Miller in front of the net on the 2nd PP unit.
