Post-Game Talk: Rangers at Islanders 10/29/13

Something that's really not being talked about at all, anywhere, including here.

The games out west, no camaraderie. Nash got concussed - nothing. Stepan got elbowed - nothing. Zucc getting mugged - nothing. People getting laid out - no response from anyone.

What can we all see is beginning to happen? This team is coming together. Haven't seen Richie scrum in 2 years. Hagelin crosschecked an Islander down to end the game. Dorsett will fight now. Boyle doesn't take offense to anything if he's on the ice. My guess is once Cally and Nash come back this team will be in full gear and every NHL analyst will be screaming watch out for this NY Rangers squad.

This is the most offensive creativity i've seen in YEARS on this team! At some point, when everyone is healthy, the goals will start pouring in and everything will click. The blue line is still improving. The defensive lapses are decreasing by the game. Girardi has been starting the seasons slower and slower but I have the utmost confidence that by the time we need him most he'll be up to his high standard of play.

Weaknesses I'd like to see addressed. Pouloit. Immense skill. Theres a reason he went top 5 in the draft. Inconsistency kills me though. If he's to play every day he belongs in the bottom 6, and if not then I'd love to have him as a space. Pyatt. He's too slow and ineffective to play on this team. Trade him or put him on waivers. He doesn't fit. Del Zotto - trade him.

Hank will get healthy. The defense will hit their stride. The offense will get healthy. The camaraderie is beginning. This will be a good season boys. Mark my words.

I agree. There are 71 games left which is plenty of time. didnt the Kings start off bad in their cup year too. Didnt the rangers have a similar record that we have now in 2011-12. The good news is that we have a really good backup goaltender, miller and kreider have provided some good offensive pressure. we now have hagelin back, stepan is starting to show signs of getting out of his funk, and cally should be back in 2 weeks

Cally for sure but Nash im not sure when/if he is coming back. Right now it looks like he isnt coming back anytime soon. Last year i think eh had a concussion but he only missed a few games and was on the ice a few times. This looks like it might be a while

I think the team will have to pick up the pieces and get used to the fact that Nash is not in their immediate future. Team Canada probably is not counting on him being available for the Olympics. It does not look promising.

Its a big blow not having nash im not gonna lie BUT if we get cally back soon and the injury bug stops i think we will be ok. Also Zucc and kreids along with stepan is very effective line
 
Love the attitude that JT Miller plays with. You can just tell the kid is winner. Going to be a great player for the Rangers.

Tough kid for sure. I hope he also gets a goal soon because he deserves one after all teh good chances lately. Thy have to make a decision when cally comes back what to do with miller. Has played pretty good but needs good minutes

other than the final score, this was insanely similar to watching the Rangers VS Habs game from yesterday.

we dominated for most of the game.
 
Anyone notice Pyatt was benvhed for Miller in the last 6 minutes. It was Miller-Boyle-Dorsett.

Anyway, really looked good tonight, except for Pyatt and MDZ. Really dominated this game from start to finish, and the Islanders, while not great, can score, and they were pinned in their end most of the night.

If Kreider and Miller are going to look this good, it really solves a lot of problems. Let's people play where they should, so fourth-liners don't have to play on the second line, etc.

Get rid of Pyatt - maybe Florida will give us a 6th rounder and a bag of pucks. Or Phoenix - hey, he's a good-looking guy, just that his speed is more suited to the ECHL than the NHL.
 
Such a great game, this one big fat Islander fan next to me was hammered stomping on the floor (was on the top row). The win almost makes up me getting into an accident on the way home. ****ing Nassau traffic.
 
Was really cool to see Richie stick up for Hagelin at the end of the game.

Hagelin was a real pain in the ass this game. I missed him very much.

Nobody deserved that goal more than Kreider.

Dom Moore was quietly very solid this season, it sucks he's injured.

Isles are bad defensively but they can really score. The fact that they only got 2 incredibly fluky goals makes me feel really nice about this game. Could've easily been 3-0

McGod is back.

Would've been nice to see Dorsett hammer Clutterbuck. I ****ing hate that punk.

Great game boys. Destroy Buffalo next.
 
I've been waiting for Kreider. It's like he got stuffed into a steamer trunk at the end of the playoffs two years ago. Great to see him playing well. Great to see Hags back in the lineup as well. Who the hell is this kid we have goal? Cam Frickin Talbot? Wow.

I think the lockout hurt him as well as Torts benching him even after small mistakes. talent was always there now teh confidence/edge is there. talbot is gives us the oppurtunity to rest Hank more down the stretch
