Fair enough. I just think that Lindgren brings a lot to the table on the back end. Grit, physicality, takes the body. I know that in some way, those players have become out of fashion, but how long has this team been looking for a player like that. Even if it's on the bottom six pairing.
There is absolutely no reason why Lindgren cannot play on the third pair in the future. Not every defenseman needs to be a PMD.

Like I said about him when I saw him play live last year, he was the only one who was actively defending the front of the net and not just reacting after the opposition parks there. He was also defending in a way that was much better than politely asking players to please avert coming. There are many advantages to having a balance team from top to bottom. Trying to have all 6 defensemen be slick puckmovers is not that. Teams need players like him. I think that he is criminally underrated in these parts due to the fact that he is not a PMD.

I agree. Like I said then, he seems to know exactly what he needs to do to be effective and stays within those parameters. Important for a player to know that. And this team could use some snarl.

Miller, Robertson, Hajek, Rykov, and Reunanen are all LD with higher upside. Not to mention Skjei who is already established. The odds aren't in his favor.

Pettersson just resigned for $874.125 for one year in Pittsburgh. Tony D needs to head this

Haha I literally just posted this in the other thread. This should set bells off for him. He’s a pretty close comparison

No. He will go back to Rauma

I think he will not, but that is just a wild guess. Think he will last long in pre-season and maybe hang around as a 7th D if he doesn’t take the 6th spot. Even if he is sent down, I think it will be with the notion that he can get back up again at any time.

really intrigued by what JD meant with Andersson transforming his body completely. Looking forward to the photos.

The odds aren't in his favor long-term. However he's pretty much ready, whereas we know Miller and Robertson won't be here, leaving Reunanen (who probably leaves for this season), Hajek, and Rykov. I'm not sold on Rykov being totally ready. Hajek? Maybe. But Lindgren could win a spot this year, and a lot can change in one year's time. Some of these D will have to be moved eventually. It's not always the lowest-upside guys that get traded; the other guys have potentially more value.

No one really thought Sauer was in the long term plans until he got a chance and ran with it. He might still be here of not for the injuries.
