Player's go down with injury, others have to come in. Miller's ceiling - in terms of potential and playing ability - is much higher than anyone else's who isn't playing.

Put Moore back on the 4th line, we clearly have a hole on that line now that Carcillo can't play.

Brassard & Richards on the other two lines. Miller with Kreider and Nash.

That needs to be the line.

Yeah, unfortunately, Miller is the ONLY option...

Moore NEEDS to be on the 4th line
Brass needs to be with Zucc and Poo
Richards has ZERO chemistry with Nash

There are no other candidates to take that spot. It's up to miller. On the plus side, Miller and Kreider played well together in the pack...

The only positive is Miller adds speed.

He has many more positives. Before every season begins, my dad and I watch the games where the prospects on the cusp have the majority of the playing time. We determine a few that we think will make actual impacts and follow their progression throughout the season.

When I went to BC, he came up for quite a few hockey games. Before he knew that Kreider was our prospect, he kept telling me that "number 19 for BC is going to be a great player one day". I told him he was our prospect. During the 2012 ECF run, he constantly brought up Kreider. We hated Torts for not giving Kreider a fair shake. AV did, now he's playing great dividends.

We feel the same way about Miller. Miller isn't as electric - his speed isn't as fast as Kreider's, but his skill definitely is (in our opinions). Clearly just because we liked Kreider doesn't mean we are talent evaluators, or anything - but I tend to feel that we are correct more often than not. So take it for what it's worth (which isn't that much to begin with). We have a lot of confidence in Miller. I think he can come in for this short period of time and adequately fill in.

FWIW, we also really liked Kristo's game. Hoping he can get a fair shake next season.

Richards is the one who has to really step up (no pun intended)

He is currently the 2nd worst player on the team - 2nd to Dorsett.

Slow, terrible decision making, terrible defensive play. The only thing that is a saving grace for him, in terms of how the fans view him, are his incredibly timely goals - particularly the one he got for us in game 7 against Pitt.

His play has been inexcusable, for someone being paid 6.7 m a year. He is the leader of this team, and I'd love for him to play inspired hockey like he did 3-5 seasons ago... but I'm not holding my breath.

Besides his defense being a liability, the biggest issue I see with Miller is inconsistency. There has been games where he played well (one of the Flyer games?) only to play poorly the next 2 or 3 games.
