He's a 22 year old kid with a ton of talent. I don't see a scenario where he isn't going to be better than Strome. I know we like to beat up on him here, but he's finally being given top 6 minutes and he is producing on the scoresheet. A little patience is in order.

I am not a big fan of Chytil on the wing, but interestingly I think he has been able to play to his strength on that line and that line has also benefited from having him on it. Chyts has supported Strome well which can be needed and so forth.

As to Strome, he keeps pushing his bar and plays better and better.

Wasn't very impressed with Strome last night.
The $ he is looking for should price the team out of resigning him and that will be a good thing. Overpaying guys like Strome is what hamstrings teams. The guy just isn't that good.

It’s kind of a rule of mine to never complain too much when the team wins. How it gets done?…..well…..we still won and the other team can go f*** off to lick their wounds then. So it wasn’t a blowout. Would have been nice but whatever. When the chips were down the Flyers found a way to lose and we found a way to win and that’s the end of the story for last night.

They should try a minor change of just having Chytil play center and Strome play right wing on that line and see how it goes. Would be huge for this team long term if Chytil could be a solid 2 or 3c, and he hasn’t really shown it outside of a few game spurts. His best combo was with Kreider and Buchnevich a couple years ago when Zibanejad was out and he really hasn’t had near that level of wingers since. Maybe he could thrive with skilled, experienced players like Panarin and Strome

He's a skilled guy, so playing with comparable line mates is going to help him tremendously. I think Gallant believes in him and is giving him the opportunity to show that he belongs.
He's become a scapegoat on this board, but that's just idiotic. There are many other areas of concern greater than Chytil not producing as a third line center.
Hopefully, the team remains patient and the kid continues to develop.
I really hope they don't trade him for a rental. That would be really short sighted.

Chytil should stick at right wing and a trade deadline move should be for a 3c upgrade. Then you can run Rooney-Goodrow-Reaves as the 4th line with Goodrow moving up the lineup as necessary.

Lafreniere-3C Upgrade- Gauthier/Hunt can be a solid 3rd line depending on the acquisition.

Philly was desperate, it is a division game and they still have some pretty good players. Good comeback from a depleted forward group.

1. Unless Kreider starts dogging his effort there's no world where any coach puts the leading goal scorer on the 3rd line
2. Kk and Laf on the 1st line is a double edged sword. More ice time? Yes Worst matchups? Yes

What pisses me off about Strome is when Panarin is out he has shown the capability of playing a complete game. When he plays with Panarin he gets mentally lazy, starts over serving Panarin and cheats his defensive responsibility. It becomes more glaring with Chytil on the line.

And he's got a hell of a backhand which was an inch from getting him another goal last night. Play him on the wing for a while and see what he can produce. Then move Laf to the middle.

agree with all your comments. That's just what I'd like to see. With Panarin on the next line, the matchups will vary and both kids have enough experience now against top matchups. I just don't want Laf or KK playing with Strome and I really want to see CK on the 3rd line at ES.

I also think PP1 should leave Zib where he is, remove Strome and move KK into his spot so plays can be made off the pass.

Honestly, I think we need to come down to earth a bit.

It’s a team with issues that costs them games. It’s not a team you just roll over. We are on away ice, late on a long trip. But let’s say it was on home ice and we were rested and they tired — it doesn’t matter. It’s a hard working team focusing a lot on playing solid defense and taking away your ice. It’s not like it’s a team without skill, Giroux is still good with the puck. Atkinson is really talented. Many good skaters that covers a lot of ice in Farabee, Koneckny, Frost and co. And so forth.

Chytil has produced the last few games with the move into the top 6, what more do people want?

I already know how this story ends though. The team is gonna move him in the off-season and then a year or two from now he’ll break out and people will be like “we should have never gotten rid of him!” as those same people today complain he needs to go lmao

He had an off night. It happens. He's human, you know. He's been very good this year.
