You got it!!!

That's what I think anyway. But actually it was the 1977 Stanley Cup Finals in Boston.

Still wonder if it ever happened after that.

Then there is that famous quote of Roy about the most scary situation in his career, when he lied in the crease without mask and he saw perifery that Al MacInnis is goint to unload his slapshot...

Make me think if he scored or if similar situation didn't occur in NHL at the time.

To me this sounds more likely than simple mention of one of the last non-masked goalie.

EDIT: Probably it's impossible to dig it out other than with eye-witness.

Merged...

... this is more a Random Trivia topic, not exactly enough to carry the weight of an entire thread.

I guess I got everyone stumped, even the mighty Killion who I though knew every player's birth place. :sarcasm:

The answer was Moose Watson, the guy who set the record for most goals and points scored in an Olympic tourney with 36 of each.

.... missed the question... so, what was the name of the P.E.I. born long time Maritime Leaguer (Jr. Sr & Pro) circa 1915/31 who played 2 games in the NHL for the Toronto St.Patricks in 1921/22?... Bonus points if you name the position ('s).

The answer was Moose Watson, the guy who set the record for most goals and points scored in an Olympic tourney with 36 of each.
Watson apparently had 14 assists, so it was 50 points. The Olympic committee doesn't recognize assists before 1952 or something like that, so officially he only had 36 points.

1) Fastest goal by a player in his first NHL game ?

2) Name the only (4) players who scored a hat-trick in their first NHL game?

3) Name the only (3) Winnipeg Jets to accumulate 500 or more points while playing for the Jets?
(WHA stats do not count)

easy questions if you look them up...... tricky if you don't :naughty:

Answer to #1 is Dave Christian : Winnipeg Jets : 7 seconds.

Name the only NHL team to not lose a single player to the WHA in the first two years of the new league's existence (72-73 and 73-74).

I don't think it would be the Seals or Islanders since they both lost players to the WHA and that is the reason why 1972-73 had both these teams in the league basement (with the Islanders setting a standard for futility that was lowered further by Washington's famously abysmal 1974-75 season).

Arrrgghhh, if only! The Seals lost the MOST players to the WHA! They were decimated! Everyone wanted away from Charlie Finley!
