Lidstrom/Draper and Messier/Lowe (across two teams) would be two of them.

Probably Lidstrom/Holmstrom as well. And almost certainly Howe/Delvecchio.

Howe/Delvecchio are first by a fairly healthy margin.
Lidstrom/Draper and Messier/Lowe are correct.
Lidstrom/Holmstrom came up a few games short of 1000.

Jean Beliveau, Henri Richard, and Claude Provost all played 1,000 games together in Montreal between 1955 and 1971

Might be the only triplet out there...

(I guessed Beliveau/Richard before looking it up. Was surprised to see Provost there too.)

Provost is the same case as Holmstrom/Lidstrom where guys had overlapping 1000-game careers but didn't actually play 1000 games together because of injuries.

Can anyone here name the five different pairs of players who have played together as teammates in over 1000 NHL regular season games?

Alfreddson and Philipps almost certainly.

And the other... I'd go for a major curveball with intervening trades...

Carbonneau/Ludwig

And coming back thinking of another one : Perrault/Ramsey.

They all come up a bit short. Beliveau played 1006 games after H. Richard joined the team, but played 6 without him in '56 and at least another 6 without him the following season, so that would put them under. In '62 Provost played the full season while Beliveau and Richard both missed many games, so that eliminates him.

All good guesses, but incorrect.

When I researched this, I thought Alfie/Phillips and Perreault/Ramsay would make it, but they didn't.

I imagine the Sedins would be added to the list by the end of the season.

Robinson/Gainey '73-'89 almost certainly. Doubt they magically missed the 150 some odd games they would have needed to to drop from 1150+ they each played during that span.

Hull/Nesterenko '57-'72 might be a Lidstrom/Holmstrom situation but one of the few pairings that top 1000+ over the exact same time frame.

Edit - I was too lazy to look around for too many multiple team duos unless an obvious possibility stuck out to me.

Robinson/Gainey is correct.
Hull/Nesterenko is wrong.
Still one more to go.

Yes, the Sedins will likely become the sixth pair to pass the mark this season. With Howe/Delvecchio, their minimum possible total is 1344 and their maximum is 1357 (Lidstrom/Draper are second with 1107). If the Sedins stick around for a few more years and stay healthy, they could conceivably end up in first place.

Thought it might be Gilbert/Ratelle but I think they are about 100 games short.

Just a hunch, but Horton and Armstrong?

Good guesses. I'd take out Lafleur/Bossy and put in Hull Sr. and Gretzky

You are probably right about Bobby Hull, but we don't have shot data that far back. He only has two recorded seasons leading the league in shots.

Correct answers so far:

1. Which six players have led the league in Goals On Ice For at least three times?

Gretzky, Orr, Jagr. Three missing.

2. Which three players have led the league in Goals Against On Ice For more than once?

3. Which three goalies have led the league in Shutouts at least five times?

Brodeur. Top two missing.

4. Which five players have led the league in shots at least four times?

Ovechkin, Esposito, Gretzky. Two missing.
