Mercer should be on the mound when Morton is pitching. Continuing to play off the Kang vs Mercer comparison obfuscates the obvious fact that Kang can just slide over to 3B in order to play for Ramirez, who he is better at in every facet of the game.

Way ahead of you.

1.) Why not just give Rammer a day off? He's been hitting pretty well, but Kang is a better fielder at the position and not such a slouch at the plate either. If the logic is to play Mercer when Morton pitches because there will be lots of grounders then why does that logic not apply to 3b? Kang is clearly the best fielder they have at 3rd.

Well it looks like the bad Charlie is on the mound this inning.

Edit....Jeez. Double, now a triple, no outs and we're down 3-0 just like that......i will never trust Morton. Been saying it for 3 damn years.

Not looking good. Don't like their chances of scoring 4 with 7 competent hitters. If only there was some sort of high average, high power bat they could play who is sitting on the bench. Obviously they don't, because a manager would be an idiot not to play a guy like that every day.

When Morton loses it, he really loses it.

Gap shots for everyone!

3 runs in, runner on 3rd, no outs. Yikes.

He just has zero mental fortitude... as soon as he lost that no hitter in the 4th you could see what was coming... When locvke gets rattled he walks everyone... when Morton does he gets hittable...

They absolutely need to call up Glasnow. He can't be worse than either Morton or Locke. Screw the he's not ready crap.

Why risk Glasnow not being ready when they have Vance Worley in AAA? You know, the guy who should have been in the starting rotation over Locke all year.

Hurdle may have cost us the division because of his love for Mercer and Locke. They probably would have more wins now if those 2 weren't playing so regularly.

Morton having a bad inning doesn't mean Glasnow needs to come up. We've won 2/3 games in this series already, and Morton could very well still turn this into a QS. He's still on a very effective pitch count, gave up some hard hit balls in quick succession, and got out of it.

The offense needs to show the **** up against this terrible pitching.

De La Rosa is not a bad pitcher. His era away from Coors Field is 3.51 this year. You have to look into the splits to evaluate Rockies players. You can't take their stats at face value because they play half of their games in the thin air of the Rockies.

His FIP is 4.01, xFIP is 3.95 on the road. He's still not a good pitcher. They should have more than 2 hits off of him.

I don't mean to imply that he's a total scrub, just that this offense, even with their second best hitter on the bench, should be able to muster more of a threat than they have.
