I have no faith we won't blow this. The team hasn't earned any faith.

I'm becoming a fatalistic "as long as Nutting's here" guy...this crop of prospects screams AAAA and I legitimately don't see enough behind them in the minors. Maybe if Cruz really hits.

if DB gets out of this, we NEED ADD-ON RUNS.

Get to 8. What's stopping you? Oh wait, Vogelbach, Mitchell, Park etc. mailing in at-bats.

Well, 3 more for Bednar then maybe 3 for either De Los Santos or Stratton.

"Tough Break for Michael Chavis?"

WTF are you talking about. That play needed to be made. Losers.

Hideous run of games/play/decisions/spirit, thankfully Bednar purged things.

I don't even know what I want the team to look like going forward.

2B Marcano
CF Reynolds
DH Cruz
3B Hayes
RF Suwinski
1B Chavis
LF CSN/Mitchell
SS Someone who sucks at hitting
C Someone who sucks at hitting

I want Vogelbach and his fat loser spirit expunged. Chang looks like he has a pulse. Too bad cause he should be buried. Newman would probably help (can't believe I'm saying that).

But truthfully the recent prospects scream AAAA and Hayes doesn't have the helium to make up for it. Swing for the fences with Cruz and a hot Reynolds I guess.

Given the lack of power in the roster I would be kind of surprised if Vogelbach is moved.

Maybe they send Castillo down for Cruz. I believe he still has options.

It’s kind of annoying Chang has had a good week at the plate. There’s no point in him being here and this bit of success will buy him more time. I’d drop him for Bae.

Same for Park. No real reason for him to be here. Might as well give Martin a look.

Marcano - LF
Reynolds - CF
Hayes - 3B
Chavis - DH
Cruz - SS
Mitchell - RF
Martin - 1B
Heineman/Perez - C
Bae - 2B

Bench: Vogelbach, Suwinski, CSN

Ideally, Cruz and Bae are up for Friday. Along with Martin, even though the latter doesn't deserve to come up given his abysmal past month+. He can at least get some AB vs righties. Worth a shot at the power.

If Cruz is at SS, I'd like to see Bae in LF and Suwinski/Mitchell in RF. Marcano at 2B, which puts Castillo into a bench role, as he should be. If it's a righty, give Martin some looks.

Against RHP:

1. Cruz - SS (just want to let him loose in the leadoff spot. that's where he's been most of the past year plus and he does well as a leadoff)
2. Marcano - 2B (he's show out well so far even though the hits haven't fallen much the past few games. TON of speed with Cruz and he up top)
3. Reynolds - CF (locked in)
4. Suwinski - RF
5. Hayes - 3B (i'd like to see him dropped as his production is not good enough for a 1 or 2)
6. Martin - 1B
7. Mitchell - DH
8. Bae - LF
9. C

Against a lefty, sub in Chavis for Martin and you could give Castillo some time at SS while moving Cruz to RF for Suwinski or DH.

1. Cruz - RF
2. Hayes - 3B
3. Reynolds - CF
4. Chavis - 1B
5. Marcano - 2B
6. Bae - LF
7. Castillo - SS
8. DH
9. C

Obviously we're a team that is potentially set up to do some damage to righties. Davis and Gonzales would represent a much nicer balance within a future lineup.

Unless his medicals are truly problematic, he's going in the 1st round.

Believe it when I see it. However, the Vulcan in me does believe teams will be reaching for college pitchers in the 1st...

Now, it's funny you kind of convinced me to look harder at Mason Martin. And I was focusing on him in a period of time where he was really locked in I guess? Good job convincing me to buy at the top of his Value Spike.

I have a tendency to go for guys when others aren't, when their perceived value is lower. I'm focused on tools development, mental makeup, and Believe In My Bones baseball development is highly nonlinear in nature. Plenty of guys struggle, while making refinements to their overall games, and then all if sudden their Big Leaguer's.

Mason isn't the same kind of hitter these days, the command of the strike zone is not there, and a player like this can't succeed without it. I'm going back to my original long time assumption that this guy is not going to make it.

Bae has a much much better chance IMO, however I have biases against him as a human, so I guess I'll be surprised if he's actually any good.

Feel free to rub it in if Priester isn't looking any good come August. I'm riding that train all the way to Mordor. He's an MLB #3 someday.

That's my story, that's what I'm sticking with. He's going to find a way around those fastball issues.

Malone is still so damn intriguing. I can't get enough of that Curve honestly. When he can snap off his best one, it looks ++ to me.

Happy to hear they've taken Chandler off shortstop. That was way too much, let's focus on the hitting and the pitching, and maybe, maybe, some 1B. Chandler is the rare bird that might be able to pull this off - he's likely the most competitive guy in the system. This kid is desperate to excell - at everything. That's the kind of personality that pulls off the impossible.

Seems like Bishop, Solo, & Chandler are off to good years. Kellington has potentially sick stuff. If Davis can stay healthy he's in The Bigs fast. A year later, I'm still loving on this draft!

Not sure about Kellington, but the rest of these guys all have extreme mental makeups. They will have a better chance than most of making it IMO.

From what I'm hearing White is very very raw still. But those tools ...

Priester a #3. Way to move the goalposts.

I don't understand why they're not calling Cruz up for the entire series. Is 1 game with an extra bullpen arm even worth it?

I'm baffled they wouldn't want him up here now for this gorgeous weekend series. Weather is looking great, you know people want to get out, Cruz would draw extra people. Sounds like he's not going to be here until the Cubs series starts Monday.

Honestly, I want Shelton gone. That's my only hope for the remainder of the year. They won't can him during the season, as they don't have any viable internal replacements but young guns coming up need someone better. And there are better managers, easily.

Strange not to see a lineup up an hourish before first pitch.

Indy twitter hinting at a big announcement later tonight, which could mean Cruz will be called up for Saturday's game.

I'm not even mad, I'm just confused with that one.

My crackpot idea is that both Peguero and Cruz are getting called up at the same time to platoon at SS.

Man the team is so committed to ST manipulation lol.

But in all seriousness Rodon would sh1t on Cruz. Peguero may have a chance.

It's not even service time manipulation at this point.
