First time seeing Connor Scott and the scouting reports that compare him to Kyle Tucker aren't kidding. It's like a carbon copy stance/approach.

Let's hope we can claw back with the top of the order up again.

Walk talking about how Brubaker is cruising and has his pitch count under control while I'm thinking "we better not let him face Soto again."

Castro off to a fantastic start. He's going to push for the promotion back to the bigs sooner than most if he keeps up his stellar bat work.

Love seeing the walks beyond the hit parade to start. Another guy who can play around the diamond. Still just 22 years old. Hope he gets a nice look a little further down the line.
It was interesting following his transition to a high OBP player in winterball. He didn't hit for a high average, or power, but sure did take a ton of walks.

It feels like Castro is a talented and determined individual. One clearly not helpless in the face of difficult change.

Man - I do love that sweet Reynolds golf stroke. That swing was poetry in motion....

Reynolds knew he got everything on that one. He knew he was about to do some jogging.

It's not HR power but it's bizarre to see Newman hitting for power this year.

I think he has 3 doubles and 1 triple this year.

Edit: and now Tucker has a triple. Only if Newman didn't get thrown out trying to go to third.

Some of the shots that showed basically the entire view of the stands, guessing about maybe 4k fans in attendance.

Tucker, nice!

Bucco's hitting the ball hard. Getting good looks.

I like hating on Newman but I'm fine going for 3rd there. Nice to see Tucker put a good swing on a ball -- I think I'm back with everybody else in the world and off the bandwagon, but I do think Tucker legitimately looked good in spring training, and his stance hasn't been the same. Maybe he can get it going, but he's somewhere close to Park for me in terms of a guy I'm not sure should be on the roster in a month if it keeps up.

The wrinkle with Tucker is that he's a better fielder. In fact, I think he looked fine in RF the other day. I'd leave him around as a super utility guy even if the obvious everyday lineup should feature Castillo at 2nd and Marisnik in the OF (probably LF, with Gamel in RF).

If Newman can keep his OPS north of .700 he's a legit MLB starting SS. Could still develop into a nice asset for us. I'm open minded.

Reports are firing up for the Steelers taking a QB much like they did with their interest in Najee. I really hope they are not true as I think Trubisky could be an answer to QB here, at least as much as any QB in this draft could.

hey what up JTG??

got the wrong thread on this one

My favorite part about AppleTV+ games is that they have 3 dots for the out indicator and not 2 on the score graphic.

Brubaker has been really impressive vs. Soto tonight, which is no easy feat. I still think we need to manage aggressively -- there are a billion pitchers right now. He definitely should get the 5th, but if the score is the same and Soto is looming for the 6th, there's no reason to run him back out there just because "pitchers should pitch 6 innings." We should try to win the game -- put Contreras in or use 3-4 relievers.

Hearing Ruiz's name reminds me of when the Pirates almost got him in exchange for Vasquez, but the Pirates wanted May instead and no trade was made. Then Vasquez was arrested for diddling kids.
