Are you for real? Danault was belittled in here at every turn, even if he exceeded all expectations and was a killing it 5v5. Same story with Desharnais when he was killing it, but played too high in the lineup by no fault of his own.

It can ger very rough for Queb players in the Red White and Blue.

Well, I still remember how l'Antichambre pundits often trashed Plekanec in favor of Desharnais, or how Lehkonen was equally trashed in favor of Hudon. Or lately Ylonen in favor of Harvey-Pinard...

Why the hell do some of those f***ers need to trash one to get another higher is beyond me.

Like WeThreeKings said, it can get rough for every Habs player, period.

Agreed. Ylonen is a totally different player from RHP and they should not be compared against each other.

Exactly. Ylonen is Ylonen. RHP is RHP. Heineman is Heineman. All 3 are different and have at least bottom 6 potential.

RHP and Heineman have more jam. But Ylonen has speed and skill and still may carve out a career. He's over thinking things sometimes now. I look forward to seeing what kind of player he is once he has more games under his belt.

Good thing they are compensated for it by being paid 10x market value

Pretty much what I see, too, when he came back he was just playing and doing what he's good at, seems he's back to wondering what he should do when he has the puck. I don't ever see him as a line driver, but he could be a pretty good complementary player, if he ever finds the necessary confidence. Cause damn can he turn on a dime when he has the puck, he reminds me of Oleg Petrov actually, with the goods and the bads.

On to RHP, yeah they are -very- different, RHP will crash the net, pure north-south, meat and potato type of player, and that's honestly with such a guy Ylonen should be paired.

How? What HF posters think means nothing to the players. The French media will fawn all over any french canadian player regardless of how they play (see Drouin). I don't see what they have to fear. Now other players I can see not wanting to play for Montreal.

I like RHP's combination of hockey sense and work ethic. And now the skating doesn't look like it will be an issue.

He's closer to Gallagher than Hudon or Dumont or Corey Locke when it comes to undersized late-round picks. Let's hope Simoneau is too?

On paper Ylonen is playing well but nothing happen when he's on the ice. He must make things happen, his game needs another gear.

I'm hoping things pick up for him once he gets more comfortable. He seems a little jittery and to be over thinking things.

But if he's in a bottom six role, as he should be, he's only going to produce so much. He's more got to carve a niche as a solid player who brings speed and reliable plays. Ironically, I worry more about him being able to make solid plays/not turn it over than about his offense. If he can't cut down on the turnovers, he's not a bottom 6 NHLer.

I am not a big fan of Ylonen. NHL skating and wrist shot but most of his goal scoring in the AHL has been on the powerplay. He won't play that role at the nhl level and isn't good/doesn't do enough 5-on-5. He is a good ahl scoring forward at 23 years old and since his first days in the Liiga he hasn't shown any signs of dominance or significant progress in my humble opinion. He had a good stint when he got 5 points in 12 games last year which got my hopes up a little bit but we have so many good prospects up front coming up. It is hard to see him fitting in with how he is playing currently with all the injuries.

Quite the oppositie of RHP who has motor that never quits and is a 5-on-5 beast and could be an option on the PK at the nhl level as a bottom-six forward. I'll admit I never saw more than a replacement/depth forward in RHP but I know he will fight for a spot any ways he can to make his doubters wrong and you have to respect that. With his recent successes, he improved his stock from replacement/depth forward to depth forward/fourth liner. He certainly has a better playing style suited for the fourth line despite his diminutive stature.

Really shows you just how washed Gallagher is.

RHP comes up and plays the same game and looks ten thousand times better doing it.
Wish he'd go on LTIR already and stop wasting a roster spot that could be given to someone like RHP but pretty sure he'll keep trying to come back for at least another season, unfortunate
