Evans had REALLY picked it up the 6-7 games before his unfortunate injury
The "hate" stemmed from his severe lack of production 30 games into the season , even tho its not JUST always about production, sometimes you need a goal here n there and some apples along the way
Which is ALSO explained by the fact he played with a bunch of LOSER dead weights for the majority of the season
The other factor is, did he over-produce last season? did people expect the same? did people expect more?
He's only making 1.7 mill, and it seems more like the problem is he's probably graduated from being a 4th line C and plays better as a 3rd line C after Monahan went down and Dvo got bumped up
So we either have to make room for the guy in shipping out Dvorak, or he's expendable

Rafael is an hard worker. Thats what we want as bottom 6 players. I hope he gonna continue to play like this.
He competes with everything he has every shift.
Where he may lack in some areas he makes up for it by out working everyone.
I admire this kid's determination.
He should stay in the NHL for good based on effort alone.

Lots of these tweeners guys have trouble maintaining that desperation that they need in order to stay long term in the nhl.
We have a pretty recent example with Pezetta, who has looked a bit too comfortable at times with his lot in life this year compared to last year.
I hope lavallagher pulls through though.

Yeah, being from Quebec doesn't seem like an advantage for 99% of Habs players. A shit ton of pressure + a target on their back. This forum makes it pretty obvious

That pass shows how good Dach can be. Once he plays like that all the time, we're talking about a 1C for sure... pushing Suzuki on 2c would be the best for the team. RHP has a great shot too, not on strength but good selection, precise and quick. These were superb to look at eh?

Apple's and oranges. Hoffman has already had a long career. He was good at scoring goals, and a mainstay in the nhl because of it.
RHP won't make it to the show that way.
Are you for real? Danault was belittled in here at every turn, even if he exceeded all expectations and was a killing it 5v5. Same story with Desharnais when he was killing it, but played too high in the lineup by no fault of his own.
It can ger very rough for Queb players in the Red White and Blue.
