I don’t see the Avalanche crashing tbh. Could happen.Narratives change quickly if the team crashes. But that remains to be seen.

You would think watching a team that regularly has a bad PK%, with their "good" seasons having them finish middle of the pack, would lead you to think that maybe there is more to PKing that just standing in the way.I mean, if you have a guy like Tyler Myers who can stand in the way, why waste, or risk, Quinn getting hit by pucks? SH TOI is dumb to use as any sort of measurement of defensive qualities. Some players are just better utilized in other situations. Cale is 95th in the league in 5v5 ATOI, you're saying he can't be as relied on while being the same number of players? More of a special teams specialist, ey?
Keep that same energy for Makar if that’s the case with the AvsHughes had an injury scare last night. Thought for a minute he broke his collar bone.
He has been an absolute monster in the back end.
If the Canucks win the Presidents Trophy and or the Division then there's no way you can deny Hughes the Norris and you gotta believe he would be in the top 3 for Hart.
First time on HF?Why even bring up Girard?
Unlikely. MacKinnon will likely be the Avalanche Hart candidate.Keep that same energy for Makar if that’s the case with the Avs
Which is why I bolded the part about the Norris not the HartUnlikely. MacKinnon will likely be the Avalanche Hart candidate.

Might need to revisit some older threads then. Seems the tune has changed.
No, it's not. There's a reason why there are so many 4th liners and 3rd pairing guys being excellent at PKing.
Should have never been a tune in the first place.Yup. Hughes having an outstanding year so far combined with half a season of team success obviously has changed the tune against byram.
Let’s compare Colton Sissons and Nathan Mackinnon
That’s the equivalent comparison
I guess they are both centers
I don't see how that's any different to what we've been saying about Petey for much of the year. He's been putting up career numbers, yet for large stretches anyone who knows his game could tell something was off. He's on pace for career high numbers, challenging for the Norris again, yet is not on top of his game. Bullshit.
You most definitely had Girard and Byram as equal to or better than Hughes at different points. Which for me takes away any and all credibility you may have had.Yup. Hughes having an outstanding year so far combined with half a season of team success obviously has changed the tune against byram.
Don’t takeaways describe how often you take the puck away when you are on defense?Lol using takeaways and hits to argue defensive ability
Surely if you know that you have a receipt? You most definitely had Girard and Byram as equal to or better than Hughes at different points. Which for me takes away any and all credibility you may have had.

The difference is that no Canuck fans are pushing the "he's still league MVP-worthy, even when he is hurt and not playing up to his potential". They admit he wasn't playing great while still picking up points. Makar is apparently the best player in the league at offense and defense, making the unique-to-him defensive hits, all while significantly injured. Bullshit.I don't see how that's any different to what we've been saying about Petey for much of the year. Fans needs to stop squabbling who has the better defenceman and join in celebrating the fact they have the undisputed two best defenceman in the league. No one said that Makar is significantly injured, nor that he’s the best player in the league at offense and defense, nor that defensive hits are unique to him. Good lord.
Someone is just coping that despite Hughes having a phenomenal year, the odds for the Norris indicate that it is indeed a very close race between the two, with Hughes having a slight edge as of right now.
Makar missed all of training camp and a few games this year due to a nagging injury and he’s still neck and neck with Hughes. This isn’t an opinion, it’s facts.
