Same could be said for Hughes reach Dahlins level of defenceI still don't think that Hughes is any better offensively, but Dahlin can definitely reach the mentioned point totals.
We'll see how the season plays out.

Okay? Of the two players, which one has already won the trophy this whole thread is about? Or do you just want to have a Norris conversation that excludes Makar? He would need to miss a significant amount of games to not be in the discussion. There's no bigger insecurity in the NHL right now than Avalanche fans bringing up Makar whenever Quinn Hughes is mentioned.
I think the bigger point is neither have the size to take on bigger forwards physically. Why the snark?
I just said Hughes has every reason to be considered a frontline Norris candidate. What’s so hard to understand about a nuanced evaluation of players? Why does “hey here’s a difference between these two” mean I’m taking a shot at Quinn?
It’s is disengenious to say Hughes is too small and weak to win the Norris. That’s a dumb take for sure.
It’s equally disingenuous to throw up “5-10 vs 5-11, why doesn’t anybody say this about the other player” when it is very clear on ice there is a difference in their physicality.
Only got a few more pointss while Dahlin had double his goals +1 but sure he's obviously so clearly better offensively imagine if Dahlin wasn't injured during April last year.Dahlin and Hughes are fairly interchangeable
Hughes better on the offensive end
Dahlin better on the defensive end
All depends which you prefer/need
More to being a good offensive player than stat line watchingOnly got a few more pointss while Dahlin had double his goals +1 but sure he's obviously so clearly better offensively imagine if Dahlin wasn't injured during April last year.
This reaks of sour grapes.Only got a few more pointss while Dahlin had double his goals +1 but sure he's obviously so clearly better offensively imagine if Dahlin wasn't injured during April last year.
Sour grapes to point out flawed logic? OK remind me when 15 goals against 7 isn't a massive gap for D-men.This reaks of sour grapes.
When it comes down to it, both played the same number of games with Hughes being ahead by 3 points.

No especially when we are only talking about offensive skills. Assists have a lot of variance goals do not.Because it isn’t, goal scoring is a secondary attribute you want from your defenceman
Uhhh, yes they doNo especially when we are only talking about offensive skills. Assists have a lot of variance goals do not.
It's clearly going over your head with Stat watching to use as a pro argument.Sour grapes to point out flawed logic? OK remind me when 15 goals against 7 isn't a massive gap for D-men.
Yeah a big guy like Dahlin dominating on ice is pretty great to watch too....It's clearly going over your head with Stat watching to use as a pro argument.

Yes, good for him. Rooting for the franchise cousins to succeed in the east.Yeah a big guy like Dahlin dominating on ice is pretty great to watch too....

Not so long as Adam Fox and Cale Makar exist.
...and he most likely will. A lot on your board is betting under on 70 games played. At this point its a given that he wont be available to the team for 10-20 games each year. Quinn is as 5'10 as Makar is as injury prone.Okay? Of the two players, which one has already won the trophy this whole thread is about?
