Because Finland is a much stronger hockey nation generally, part of the Big 5, wins a good amount at the Junior level, something that Slovakia does not do. It's certainly an upset.

Yeah one silver in 15 years ... I am not saying we dont, its just Swedes, Finns still have so much more. After 15 years in work where we are allegedly trying to fix this problem and return Czechia back on par with the rest of big six I would expect a much larger progress, then that we can beat strong opponent 1-2 times out of ten and win a medal once per 10-15 years if we have extraordinary draft year.

Thank god USNDTP doesn't have to worry about getting Askarov'd this year. Not sure the last time they lost to Slovakia at the U18s but I imagine it was a long time ago.
