Yeah right haha! Aho, Barkov, Laine, Teräväinen, Armia, Rask, Rinne, Granlund, Kotkaniemi, Borgström. Saros, Niku, Nutivaara, Lindell, Hintz, Heiskanen etc etc.
Go home. Finland has a D-team, sweden had their best except 4-5 players.

I count 13 that would've made the team, all in all higher quality. Lehner, Backstrom, Zibanejad, W. Karlsson, Backlund, E. Karlsson, Hedman, H. Lindholm, Forsberg, Arvidsson, Nyquist, Johansson, Johnsson.

What do Swedish fans think of the reffing in this game? It looked like everything is allowed.

It was surprising that the game didn't get physical at all. Didn't see practically any good hits there.

I loved the reffing. I thought several times that the Finns should get a powerplay but then in the next sequence they did something penalty-worthy as well. I rather the reffs let them play as much as possible. As long as it's equal.

Pesonen - Manninen - Kakko is a great line. Their corsi must be ridiculous in the tournament.

Finland found their secondary scoring right moment in preliminary round games when Kakko started get special treatment by opposite teams. Underdog situation fits to Finland perfectly.

Finland-Russia semifinal in Slovakia. There's no Granny to do a lacrosse goal but we got this other kid...
It's going to be real tough. Traditionally the modern Russian team has been completely disorganized and selfish, but they seem to have got their act together in the past couple of major tournaments. If they play as a team, there's no chance to win against so many pros.

Sure, but a team with CLEARLY weaker players can’t dominate most of the game in the fashiom Finland did, by just having better coaching and system. They could in, it would be a clear turtling win. This had nothing to do with that kind of anti-hockey.

I never claimed that the NHL isn’t though the best league after all. Just that the skill level difference isn’t as great as some completely blind and even arrogant NHL fans want to desperately believe. Just keep on living in dreamland, if you seriously believe that the top European League are MASSIVELY behind the NHL. It clearly isn’t and we see it constantly in international hockey. Sorry, it that’s how it simply is.

Not that I disagreed but the results would most likely be quite different if these games were played on that "anti-creative" NA ice sheet...

What a sensation miracles really happens sometimes even in ice hockey.
Once again i was wrong but i'll take it.

I'm not never seen that passive and phlegmatic Sweden in 3rd period.
I don't say Sweden deserved this lose but with all that NHL talent they should have play much better.
Thank You TEAM FINLAND 5-4.

Well it was Grönborg's intentional strategy to do that in the 3rd period. To shut everything down. Questionable strategy at that but I guess it was possible that Pettersson would've scored one more goal from an oddman rush from just one more chance since he is quite lethal in the offensive end. It was only two minutes away so can't really blame Grönborg. It is surprising how much Sweden leaked in the defensive end during the tournament. I thought their potential should be way higher as a two way team.

When I saw Loui came I already knew we are f***ed.
Probably I need to buy a lottery tomorrow.

Well deserved win, Finland. Swedes just played snake bitten. Dont know where all the mental midgetry came from. But Grönborg should have played the best players more. Much of this disaster is on him.

Sounds familiar ;). Anyways there's no chance that Finland isn't the underdog here. We'll take that position.

Congrats to the finns, great game by them. As usual they work hard all the time everywhere.

Can't understand why sweden was standing still paralyzed and why gronborg puts in Louie and Kempe 3 on 3 , I as was screaming "noo you cant do that" and 15 sekunds later finland scored.

If it was equal, Sweden wouldn't have got two PPs. That said, none of the trippings I noticed on either side really affected the game that much, didn't deny serious scoring chances etc. So, whatever.

This was probably the end of King Henrik's national team career. End of an era. This wasn't his best season anymore but best goalie Sweden has ever had so all respect to him.

Could hardly belive it myself. What was Grönborg trying to proove ???

This team has probably 2 players out of top-60 Finnish players, and probably 0 goalies out of 10 best.

Heck, our 1st line center isn't even top-5 center in Liiga. This is all Jukka Jalonen, i mean he only took 2 players from Liiga final teams because most of these guys has been together for so long preparing for this tournament, he put all his trust on these guys. And now they are putting everything they have and more for each others, so beautiful to watch.

Grönborg’s coaching or lack thereof cost us this game and almost had us outside the quarterfinals. If we look back at this tournament we see that team Sweden never found their game. 2-5 loss to Czech Republic, barely beat Switzerland, almost lost to Latvia and got demolished by the Russians.

Lundqvist should never have taken a spot on the team, that was his bad. Loui Eriksson is one of the slowest and least skilled players in the NHL and he’s out there playing 3 on 3... That was only going to end one way.

And I said this in the very beginning of this thread, these games are all about heart and Sweden showed none of that.

Thankfully, Grönborg is done now and next year we will hopefully see some younger and hungrier version.

Great game by Finland but I feel like they didn’t really have to try all that hard with a completely paralyzed Team Sweden.

Jalonen is best coach we ever had, regardles what happens now on. By far. The team spirit and work morale is great in his teams. And upset track record is amazing. If he was american or a canuck hed no doubt be nhl great nhl coach.
