No one cares
Dating back to his Colorado and Ottawa days, I do wonder if Duchene is great in the locker room. The way the tweet is laid out it seems to suggest an issue in Nashville too.
I remember Roy having issues with him back in the day and if Trotz is trying to establish a culture and is willing to spend that much to get rid of him there must be something bad about him. I don't see a team like the Bruins wanting him.

I remember that I thought Libor was gonna be a good pick during his draft year...
(Then when Habs didn't pick him I sent a bunch of death threats to mgmt and other players we picked instead because that's totally normal behaviour)
I'm sure you will be hoping Habs sign him!!
Good Luck

What's the issue? People always say issues - like what

Man, that Eichel 66pts season mention has to stop. You're not the first I see bringin it up.
How many games did Eichel take to reach those 66 pts btw? Ah right, 67gp. Puts things into perspective doesn't it?

What matters is PPG players, or close to it. That's what Eichel has been since his second NHL season.
VGK also had Stone scoring at PPG clip during last season. Plus Pietrangelo missing 10 games and still outscoring everyone on our team except Suzuki as a D (I know we had injuries but you get the idea).

Again, not directed at you specifically but this whole idea you don't need stars to win the cup is disingenuous. No team has won the cup without guys averaging PPG production or that had it in them during their careers, with the added capacity of turning it on during the playoffs at similar clip.
It's not a guaranteed win but a necessary component I'd say confidently.
As for ppg….i believe we have 3 who can come pretty close to that in Cole, Nick, and Kirby. And even Mike Matheson, a Dman, was pretty impressive last year.

cole….36 points in 46 games
nick…66 points in 82
kirby….38 points in 58
mike….34 points in 48

we are getting there….Im just not as concerned as some are about absolutely needing a Jack Eichel on our team….

At this rate Hoffman, armia, Dvorak etc will all be here with the team. Literally a disaster, but I don’t see any of those guys getting moved and thus I don’t see us doing anything at all with free agents.
Unfortunately I have to reluctantly agree. Bad contracts means frustration.

your count is 15 forwards
Team is too stuffed with players right now, about the only moves I can see are a new contract for Monty and maybe flipping one or two of the problem children.

Friedman said Reaves to TO, most likely.

With Lucic in Boston and Reavo in TO, we need a slugger to handle the workload instead of having Xhekaj having to do it all by himslef. He’s to much important for this team.
I'd be surprised if this group even manages to deal some of their excess let along get players to help get keep others safe incase things get testy.

Man, that buyout on Duchene is brutal. Between his buyout, Turris's buyout, retained salary on Johansen & Ekholm, that's $8.75m in dead cap this year. $11.75m in 2024-2025!

Meanwhile, we won't even buyout one f***ing year of Hoffman..
Hoff is gone in a year, just eat up that contract or bury him in Laval. I'm sure someone might pick him up on waivers or wait until the deadline and you might get a pick. The Preds bought two former Sens. You gotta do it. The Habs have some 10 million on LTIR because of Price. Gallagher will blow that up soon enough. Armia, Hoff, Edmundson, Gallagher, Price, Anderson and Savard are the bad contracts from BargainBin. From Hugo, you have Allen. The Habs are cleaning up and managing them pretty nicely, so it requires some patient.

For what it's worth, it doesn't mean because Teasdale and Gurianov weren't qualified, they can't sign them. They would just sign them to less than their qualifying offer. Although Teasdale's QO wouldn't be much of a raise.

They did it with Pitlick last year (not qualifying him but still signing him to less than his QO, but for 2 years).
