Dallas is playing for their lives and fully expected them to carry the play tonight if not their complete team is a farce, Oilers need to forecheck heavily in the 3rd and execute on odd-man rushes which they'll have if still 2-0 with 10 min to go

The shocking thing with the Stars is their atrocious PK and PP. Maybe it's just that we are just flat out better there, but it's caved the Stars.

You obviously don’t watch any Oilers hockey. McDavid 1 on 1 on the power play is more dangerous. It’s actually when they sit back and let him shoot he becomes neutered as this year his injury is not allowing him to shoot.

I've watched 80% of the games they played this year lmao.

McDavid will murder you if you give him time because he skates around with impunity on the powerplay and drags 2 guys with him when given room.

You can't let him skate on the powerplay. It's how he sets up his assists and kills teams a man short.

Game not over though wonder if Dallas has any juice left or if Debour is gonna be stubborn still making adjustments. Next goal if there is one is huge. Either a dagger goal for oilers but if Dallas scores just one, they are gonna do everything to try and get the next one. One of the reasons why 2-0 lead going into 3rd can be the worst sometimes.

I never bought LA as a great playoff opponent. They cheesed their way to an appearance with the 1-3-1 system and it got completely dismantled by the Oilers.

I still think Edmonton and Vancouver played sloppy and uninspiring hockey in round 2. The Oilers look a lot better in this series in terms of their massive improvements to defensive structure as a team. It started to ramp up against Vancouver but it's gotten to a really good place this series.

If you know hockey, It's a thing called defending the lead. If they were down 2 and had 8 shots then I would agree with you. I don't like them defending this much but the shot clock has nothing to do wiht it

Yep. It's why he's the best in the world. The guy is just a cheat code sometimes. You can't skate at him with speed, you need to prevent him from getting any speed and on the PK that means attacking him on the walls.

Yeah both teams embellished like crazy that series.

Dallas isn't doing any of it (aside from maybe Marchment staying down) and as a result they're not getting nearly the amount of chances on the powerplay because of it. All integrity but zero gamesmanship and in the end it's not the best strategy, regardless of how lethargic their pp is.
