Surprisingly, DeAngelo looked fine in spite of having Staal as his partner.
I strongly believe if Staal was paired with Kampfer rather than ADA we would not have won that game.

Yep one has some serious raw talent while the other will eventually become another stepan.

Chytil has had a lot of defensive lapses. Not sure he is ready yet. He would spend a lot of time in AVs doghouse
Miller has never played RW to my knowledge. Switch Nash and Miller.
Completely based off recency bias:
Kreider-Zibanejad-Buchnevich
Miler-Chytil-Zucc
Vesey-Hayes-Nash --> not happy with this, but Hayes needs to prove me wrong
Grabner-DD-Lettieri/Nieves
I love Fontaine's effort, but want him to get playing time this season. Same with Lias Andersson. Let both get significant time to round out their offensive games because they're already brilliant defensively. Lias needs to have more of an offensive impact in the future, so there's no need to rush him this season.
Defense:
McDonagh-Shattenkirk
Skjei-ADA
Smith-Holden/Pionk
Pavelec
Halverson
Huska
Wall
Jeff Malcolm
Alex Auld
Shesty

Fontaine looks like a legitimate bottom 6 prospect, which obviously is a good haul for a 6th round pick, overage, one year off his draft season. But I don't think his skating is at the level this team needs it to be right now.
If the team is going to give Chytil or Andersson 9 games, they don't really need anyone else right away unless they plan on Puempel being a spare forward.
It's good to have options. DeAngelo's skating is certainly as advertised.
The hot takes on Andersson already are pretty entertaining.
Kreider - Zib - Buch
Nash - Chytil - Zucc
Vesey - Hayes - Miller
Grabner - LA - DD
Puempel, Nieves

You say this like Stepan is a bad player?
A lot is incorrect. Hes had a few which is to be expected of a kid who just turned 18.
If they keep him, I'm sure they have that in mind. Almost no one is ready to play a high level defensive game as a center at 18.
I thought he forced the issue a few times tonight and didn't have a particularly strong game but he was still right smack dab in the middle of this teams best scoring chances tonight. I think hes earned a 9 game look.
Well that's what happens when you can't talk face to face![]()
