Actually the heat graph shows shot rates and it would make sense that Miller is on the right side because he doesn't shoot much.

Is it at all possible to come up with a projected heat graph/stats with random thought up lines?

Like say you were making up a fantasy team for instance?

Serious stat question..

Theres your ****ing proof alluckks

This is a really dumb argument

Miller/Nash/Zucc and Grabner can all play both wings

ALLuckks:

You now know that Miller has played alot of RW.

I now know that Miller has played LW more often than I thought.

Sorry if I offended you. We both learned something.

Peace.

Speaking of which, 4th time in 5 games we were the second best possession team on the ice.

Meet the new coach, same as the old coach.

Dude, it's preseason. At least half of the lineup tonight was players who won't play in the NHL this season and the games before this had even fewer NHLers in them.

All good, I learned on this end, cheers

Interesting, both the Flyers and Isles played zone D. Same with NJ.

Rangers have struggled to generate chances 5v5... sure it's half a squad..

But after seeing CLB, PIT, & WSH success with the zone D... Rangers and CAR may only be the man on man d teams in the metro.

Something to keep an eye. Could be a division were a lot of one goal games are decided, lots of 3 point games.

This may affect playoff outcome.

I really want to see Miller center his own line this season

See, I believe he can be good at center, and it would be very valuable this year, but with Zib and Hayes both being young, and LA and Chytil both on their way soon enough, do we need to shift Miller there? He really developed last year playing Wing(s) whereas it felt like he had stunted growth when plugged at Center.

Nash - Miller - Zucc

Nothing is set in stone but I think that line is far and away the best possible first line this team can have IMO.

Chemistry and defense is there so they can take on the top lines of the league.

I hope you're right. I've just really had it with this coach and his passive garbage.

Playing not to lose leads to losing. That's a universal truth in this league, no matter what you think goes into building a good team.

It just seemed clear to me tonight that we were creating our own problems and mostly had to do with guys not being sure how to read each other on the ice. All new combinations to start. AV's teams have good possession stats with good possession players, that's almost always been the case, but the guys have to get used to each other when there's this much roster turnover.

If the only times you notice a player, forward or defenseman or goalie, is when they do something great, they probably played really well.

I didn't really start paying attention to him until later in the game but the puck does't really seem to follow Patrick around very much, at least at this point. Making no prediction about his future ability, just didn't seem like he was that noticeable tonight other than he's big and moves well. Will see how he develops

AV has mentioned and decided to start Miller in a wing position this year. Dan Rosen tweeted about it earlier. ;)
But I agree Miller looked really good at center too in his first game so versatile player.
