LA is just different than Chytil.

He is more filled out and plays a game closer to Stepan. Chytil is more talented. LA will have the better all around game on both sides of the puck.

I think Chytil fits better right now.

LA isn't flashy. Chytil is and that's why he'll always stand out more.

BTW, Joe said Pedrie is in the running for a spot on D. No, Joe, nothing he's done puts him in the running for a spot on D. I haven't noticed anything bad about him, (in fact, I haven't noticed him at all), but, being better than Marc Staal isn't the standard for challenging for a spot on the blueline.

I understand there are 2 conflicting views, the present and future. For the future it's probably best for both to develop in Europe. Anderson is a different player, he doesn't have that offensive flash. He's a more well rounded player.

Anyway, I would rather they play and get 20 minutes a game playing time than to be stuck in the NHL playing 5 minutes ever other game. That's a scenario I can see AV going with. He has different concerns, he has to win now.

There is a middle ground. Have them on the team and play a max of 9 games (Not burning off a year of their ELC) and not on the roster for more than 45 games (Not accruing a season towards UFA status) and send them to either the AHL or back to Europe after that.

They both get a chance to show what they can do, and once we send them down/back, it opens a roster spot for Fast when he comes back from injury.

One thing I'm curious about.
If Andersson/Chytil don't make the team then why would you rather they go back to Europe as opposed to Hartford where they can learn the system on an NHL sized rink?
Seems like a no brainer to me unless you're completely over matched and need to be sent back until a kid matures/gains weight..Etc..

Joe said Nejezchleb looked NHL-ready 2 years ago during pre-season

Andersson is staying regardless. I think Chytil might play junior hockey in Canada

1. There's more to playing in Europe than just the domestic competition. There's the national team tournaments.

2. In my opinion, for young kids it is easier to develop in their home country. Chytil turned 18 years old, 2 weeks ago for instance.

If LA and Chytil keep playing like this i will become increasingly less against them both making the team. I doubt that they do, but boy do they look close to ready. Once Chytil fills out his form a bit more he will be a monster. All i care about right now that nobody seems to be talking about is keeping both of these kids on the right track off the ice, dont forget they are 18 in nyc. Just like me. And boy do i do some stupid stuff.

There is no room for Andersson and Chytil. You can't play guys like that on the fourth line as rookies. There's room for one, lets wait and see if either will be ready.

They are back home in a familiar environment and playing in good leagues.

Agree. Better to have them with more minutes in different league than very few chances so young because other people are just going to get more.

There was no room for Duclair either. If necessary you make room. It would take a lot to earn that but its not impossible.
