I'm on blue line by glass and they look pretty good

Senyshyn may be a low hockey IQ ghost according to the HF Jimmy Johns Nation but can he skate - like what I've seen as limited as is

Heinen been very good as has Grzelcyk

Blidh brings it

Double take moment seeing Stevie Y talking up to another Eastern team scout outside section 110

wish I read this while I was still at the game, would of been cool to meet Stevie Y

Heinen with assists on both goals --the guy is playing himself into top (wing) prospect status and the first kick at the can next year.

"Grizz" has just 3pts (0 goals) in 15 games? Yikes.

Ridiculous that JFK isn't on this team --hope those 7mins were worth it. Hopefully Gabrielle is back healthy and in action soon.

Best part was that after Heinen passed it, he went to the front of the net and Dotchin tripped/interfered him and provided a distraction for the goalie on the Swarz shot.

Colt, you are assuming that JFK would have come out early without burning the year off the ELC. Not sure I'm making that assumption.

Heinen is not a "banger", but I'm not sure where this stuff comes him about "avoiding physical play" comes from? He goes into the corners and he plays in front of the net. That's "physical play" just as much as roughing somebody up is.

I'm actually not making that assumption at all (you are assuming that I am assuming that ;) ) what I am saying is that Sweeney should have insisted that they wanted him available for a P-Bruins playoff run instead of getting him his 7 total mins of NHL action.

If a guy is considering coming out after 2 years than there is no way in hell he would want to go for the full 4 and if we are giving the guy all the power after 2 years and letting a guy burn and entire YEAR for 7 mins then what is the advantage of going the NCAA route where we "control" the player for 4 years?

I get burning a year for a UFA like Krug as a sweetner, but a kid like JFK should have been set up to be with the P-Bruins is all I'm saying.

The Bruins were the only team in the entire NHL that didn't draft out of the CHL last year.... at all.

I mean, he wasnt coming to Providence at all. It was burn the year or wait a full year for him. They clearly wanted him for next year.

As for the CHL thing. I'm extremely happy with McAvoy, Frederic, and Lindgren as the big picks from the draft. The year before though the first 3 picks were all CHL players. Means nothing either way.

I never thought the "advantage" of drafting out of the NCAA was only being able to "control" the player for 4 years. IMO, it's about "spacing" your draft picks AND being able to pick and choose the guys when they are ready. If you need that extra year, it's a good thing. I would have loved to have seen JFK take the Heinen route and go to PRO and get pro (and playoff) experience, but this isn't just about this year. Seeeney obviously felt it was worth burning the year to get JFK into their system for 17-18, whether he makes the big club or gains some experience in PRO.

Ducks used all 6 of their picks to select CHL players in 2016. Only 1 of 7 were CHL players that were picked in 2015 by them.

They have to make decisions on the 6 they picked a year ago by June 1 of this year. The 6 non-CHL players from 2 years ago, they have up until June 1 2019 or Aug 15, 2020 to decide on them.

It's all about spreading it out these days

Yeah, I don't know what to make of Heinen. There's an element to his game that he's floating out there, not making the hustle play and just waiting for the game to come to him. But then you watch that OT goal last night when he "incidentally" bumps into the 'Cuse d-man and goalie and you wonder if he's some kind of hockey troll. I expect he got up after they scored and just went like Andy from Parks and Rec with a sad look and went "Oops, my bad" and skated away to celebrate.

Grzelcyk, man, he's no O'Gara. Makes some bad decisions. Still he's a rookie so I'll live with it as opposed to some of the clowns who've been in the league seven or eight years insisting on drop back passing and throwing it across our goal crease.

Please no more Hargrove. Hell, play Rinaldo like he was thinking of doing yesterday. Rinaldo would actually bury the stuff Hargrove had coming to him last night.

Zach is getting more time as Dean gets more confidence in him, which is good. Had the game on his stick last night would have been sweet had he buried it.

Power play is still awful. Dean had Fitzgerald out there at one point. Now trying anything.

Stevie Y hanging out talking to Mark Mowers in the concourse behind 109 was cool.

Blidh was the best player on the ice for Providence as far as compete level. Just motoring the whole game to keeps plays alive. Most of the rest of the team was too much like Friday, but they got the win, so oh well.

Heinen is an extremely cerebral player, as you implied, I don't think too much he does by "accident". He doesn't have "plus" skating or shot, but he thinks the game extremely well. It looks like he has adjusted to the speed of the AHL and the NHL will be next.

It would not surprise me at all if ROG challenges/is the 3rd pair LD in the Fall.

Heinen is second in playoff scoring in the AHL as a rookie. The only other rookie in the top 20 is Jake DeBrusk. That, and the fact that he isn't undersized, make him a terrific prospect. Not every player needs to be an in-your-face grinder with a high motor. Blidh may be a decent niche prospect, but he isn't anywhere near the same category as Heinen, who still tracks as a top 6 forward.

First I really appreciate the info that you provide.

As far as Heinen is concerned, his style of play was known to not be anything special to watch but he seems to be getting the job done pretty well anyway. I am definitely encouraged by his performance over the latter part of the season and into the playoffs.

15 pts in 14 playoff games, first year pro , I dunno, stats may not tell all the story but I`m wagering Dean is AOK with Heinen`s game

What's the prognosis on his return?

He had shoulder surgery. I'd guess he's done for the season unless the finals stretch far enough.

Honestly felt he hit that "most games played in a season" wall right when the regular season wrapped up.

I wonder how good old Furman will try to screw us this time. And Ryan Daisy doesn't think offsides is his call.
