Really great to see from Molendyk since one of the big knocks was his lower point totals last year. I think being put in a more stay at home role last year may ultimately be a great thing for his development.
Well, Giroux was still a highly-touted player who was picked in the 1st round. Things move very fast in the later rounds, though, and I can well imagine our scouts having Fink ranked in the 100-ish range, and kind of throwing a "blanket offer" out there to any team who was ready to throw a pick into next year to give us a chance at guy we had ranked way above the 7th round. And we had the "in" with NJ. Sometimes teams don't even feel like they have time to process those kinds of offers, and just go ahead make their auto-picks off their lists anyway. Nice that we got this one in!
