Puck didn't feel like going in but outside of that this game did what you'd want. Guys looked good and dominated a team they should've dominated. Vanecek got a shutout against a talentless roster like he should.

I haven't seen a 1-0 Devils win in a long time
It was probably Cory Schneider back in 2015 or 2016.

Come to think of it, I do remember him having a 1-0 shutout in Vancouver in 17-18. I think it might have been Brian Boyle’s first game of that season and first after his cancer diagnosis.

And if memory really serves me correct, Jimmy Hayes had the lone goal.

I mean 1-0 wins over Boston have happened way more recently. Boston often has trouble finishing even when their best guys are playing and don’t handle our speed well.

Vanacek was really solid, nothing crazy but he bailed them out on a couple of breakdowns.
I think that's all anyone really wants is "really solid" at this point from both him and Blackwood. If one seized the reigns and is "really good" this year that's fantastic but as long as they're both solid I think most of us will take it.

Huge win. Beating a veteran Bruins team at their own game has big playoff implications. Sure the Bruins were missing Hall Pasternak Bergeron Marchand Zacha McAvoy Carlo Swayman and any semblance of a pulse but other than that it was a huge win.
Oh and missing Lindholm too
