Honestly, I think Vancouver and Carolina are simply playing cat and mouse games. With our LTIR, the Canes in no way have to trade Bear, but Vancouver almost certainly needs RHD if they want any sort of playoff relevance.

For Vancouver, it absolutely might. They have Luke Freaking Schenn as a top-4 defenseman. No amount of Quinn Hughes can fix that kind of gaping hole.
