the nhl team? No. We have too many players ahead of him. He very well could get a 2 way contract and play in Chicago in the AHL. But he won’t make the nhl roster this year. Too many veterans on contracts already ahead of him. Seems pretty good and not totally out of place yet from the tiny bit I have seen. He has a big frame and seems to play well. But with Chatfield, Coghlan, deHaan, and Bear all trying to win a spot on 3rd pairing dmen 5/6 spots, I just don’t see him beating all those guys out for a spot this year. But we need more Left D depth….

the young centers were the highlight of the team. Robidas needs to mass but his motor is awesome. He'll be the next Rod man crush.

Small sample size and I didn't see much of today's game (obviously) but I think Coghlan has looked the part more than Chatfield. If Bear isn't traded he's also probably behind him, but I suspect he's traded before the season starts. Chatfield is a solid 7. CDH/Coghlan I actually think could be a considerable upgrade on Cole/Smith/Bear from last year.

Still boggles my mind we won the freaking Jennings trophy with Cole/Smith anchoring the bottom pair. Smith was good for like 1 unforced turnover a period. Our forwards are right up there with Boston's and dare I say New York's for consistent backchecking. Slavin was there too.
