Maybe I'm being pessimistic because I hated the pick since the day we made it, I know he's still young, but it would be nice to see Slafkovsky do something to show why he should have been picked even close to first overall.

Yep, I'm usually patient with prospects, but the truth is everyone but Wright in that top 5 has looked like top picks. We'll see how he does this preseason, it's still just one period after months without playing. He should get better and better. If he doesn't, then Laval becomes an option.

No clue why they are so dismissive about this idea. We got like 14 NHL forwards too, not like we are starved for a player. Play him with Roy and Andersson on the top line then Heineman/Mailley/Farell as the second line.

His buddy Nemec taken 2nd over all last season played the entire year in Utica and I would argue has probably surpassed Slaf because of it. Keeping him in the NHL last season was a mistake. They can change course right now bit probably wont.

You’ll say he isn’t doing much but i think he looks way more comfortable than last year and his positioning on smaller ice is way better. He’s getting there, then he’ll get confidence offensively.
