Roy had a good period.

Maybe I'm being pessimistic because I hated the pick since the day we made it, I know he's still young, but it would be nice to see Slafkovsky do something to show why he should have been picked even close to first overall.

And Slaf....it's Laval. It has to be. It wasn't a 1st round like any other? Fine. Treat it as such.
I’m down with that. I hope they aren’t afraid to do it.

If he starts up though, he needs time in the top six. Now is the time. We’re not a playoff team, give him lots of ice or send him down.

I’m really excited about mailloux, I’m hoping he is our next subban

Also reminds me of Evan Bouchard a bit ? Darnel nurse maybe ?

He seems like a mix of both.

He's got the offensive flare, but unlikely to be as high as Bouchard. He tries to play a tough game, but not as tough as Nurse.

He's on par with their inability to defend, though.

No clue why they are so dismissive about this idea. We got like 14 NHL forwards too, not like we are starved for a player. Play him with Roy and Andersson on the top line then Heineman/Mailley/Farell as the second line.

The first thing he could/should have done is stop when he gets to the net instead of flying by. Easy tap in if he does.

Slaf spent most of the season conditioning and fixing his physical and probably not doing much 'hockey' stuff ... I think this will be a big season for him developmentally if he can stay healthy; his frame is much more NHL-appropriate and he has now acclimated to the environment.
