Yes, we have had no real crunch in schedule yet. Knob is on record saying they are using him now while the schedule is loose, then will load manage when the schedule condenses. We've play 2 B2B so far, we have 8 after the all-star break. There hasn't been a reason to give him many games off with us chasing playoff spots, since we have games every 2 days at worst and the last two weeks we've had multiple breaks of 2 days between games.
And when Skinner has another one of his cold streaks and/or craps the bed in the post season again then what? Run a below AHL level goalie in Campbell?
That’s why I wouldn’t want the Wings to do it. That’s just too much value when we have our own goalie prospects coming up and Lyon playing great.
We’re not going to be true contenders for a couple years and goalies for the most part are voodoo.
Nashville has every right to ask that though

There are five goalies in the league who would 100% warrant giving up a premium blue-chip prospect in a trade. Three of them (Vasi, Sorokin, Hellebuyck) are locked up with their current teams, and the fourth (Shestyorkin) isn't going anywhere. Saros is the fifth.
Sure, it sucks to give up a huge prospect, but maybe this is one of those occasions where biting the bullet is the play.

Maybe run just another guy like the Avs did with Francouz and the Knights did with a then unknown quanitity in Hill.
I’m not saying the Oilers shouldn’t get Skinner some help. But 5M dollar help that costs 1sts+++ would be down right stupid.

If the ask starts with Byfield , the Kings should be out. I wouldn’t do Byfield straight up let alone add to him.

Spence, Kaliyev and 2024 1st for Saros is fair trade in my opinion.
I do not think Predators will get better offering.

No he doesn't the guy is 28 what one more year relies heavily on his athleticism which usually causes those goalies to be not as durable.....Mercer is untouchable or should be he's the kinda of guy cup teams are built on....Holtz is trending up.....If they have to give a good young player go for Askarov otherwise pass....

That will be our ask. And all teams will balk (rightfully so). And the song and dance will begin anew.
Likely, IF saros is traded us Nashville fans will be underwhelmed unless a team gets rather desperate. Even then, itll be a collection of high draft picks and recent first round pick prospects that may not be to our likings.
More likely, we continue on the path we are on with saros. Maybe trade him next deadline if we are out of it and an extension cant be reached and askarov continues to look great. Probably get a late 1st and an okish prospect at that point.

I do not believe NJ will do this trade.
It is too much for Saros.
Which is why I think this article is clickbait, Trot says he'd only move Saros for a Byfield, essentially means he's not shopping him.

Something has to be done. I kind of wish Fitz went a little harder for Helle. Over the summer I thought we’d be able to out score our defensive and goaltending issues but that’s not happening. And there’s nothing on the horizon to be excited for.
Maybe including Mercer is overreacting a little but I’d definitely trade Holtz and a 1st for Saros extended. If not Saros I’m not sure who else will become available over the next couple of years. It would suck to miss out on both Helle and Saros, if they were both actually available, and not be able to solve the goaltending issue.
I’d love Askarov too and if he’s available then hopefully Fitz can get him. Knight would be another one I’d love but these guys probably won’t be available.

Kings are in win now mode especially with Kopitar and Doughty both still playing at an elite level. Saros is an ELITE top 5 starter, you got to give the Preds a real good forward for them to give you Saros. Trotz knows that many teams will be inquiring on Saros so he holds the cards. It's going to be a bidding war.
Adding Saros to the Kings puts them over the top. Goal is really the only weakness on that roster. Aside from a poor coach McLennan.
I would do Byfield for Saros easily.

Take out Tomasino and Fabbro and start again, NSH aren't trading all 3 I can assure you of that. What would your offer look like for JUST Saros.

I think EDM, TOR, NJ, LA all inquire about Saros and put in offers. Would be curious what the Leafs could offer Trotz. It would likely involve Knies, as much as Leafs fans don't want to trade him. Got to give to get.

If Trotz was listening to these offers, well, he's a more patient man than I think he actually is. He'll get tired of listening pretty quickly and continue with his default plan of extending Saros. Folks are wasting their time talking about this AGAIN. It's just clickbait.
