Yes I'm saying Hamonic, Zub, Zaitsev and Brannstrom are not going to be putting up 30-40pts each and definitely think you're overrating your young core who may have ups and downs.

It's wild to me that people think Ottawa is going to do anything this year. That defense and goaltending is terrible.

This would for sure make things interesting, but find it pretty unlikely .but would love to see it !
In my view , torontos goaltending issues are way over stated. They don’t need anyone to steal games , just not suck . We’ll see how the new guys work out . Other than that, they are bringing back the same team . I think they are the best team in the division.
I hope to see it as well...Makes for a much more entertaining hockey. We shall see but I thinking there will be some surprises this year. Shockers!

And the thing is I've liked what they're doing there, the draft picks for most part, the trades and now commitment to spend but definitely agree, they need another year of experience for youth and guys playing 70+ games.

I think adding a perennial loser on a retirement contract in Giroux is going to blow up in their face TBH. Reminds me of Iggy to the Avs.

It only gets more one sided the further down you go. Panthers also eventually get Duclair back.

And you are underrating it....I never said anything about how many 40 point defenders we will have our top 9 is deep and will compete against teams like yours and maybe take away your slot

Why? Debrincat is a good add, but Giroux is not that great anymore.

Ottawa had the third worst offense in the East last year.

Florida scored almost 120 more goals than the Sens lol.
Injuries bud ....We had almost double the man games lost...Not saying we were the better team last season but we couldnt even compete with serious injuries throughout our lineup healthy we are more than a match for any team in the Atlantic this season

Do I need to post the 4th lines as well or will you finally give in that the senators offense is not better than or deeper than the panthers?

Those WAR charts are also incredibly misleading when comparing a great team and a bad team. Forsling is not anywhere near as good as Chabot, but that chart will tell you he actually is.

I'm not getting into "I disagree with what this number says" because it misunderstands the point of anything and too many dummies use it to say like "well actually all the meaningful evidence is wrong because I disagree." Like, there's no point in looking at data/evidence at all if you're only gonna use the stuff that backs up what you already think.

Valid point for sure, most GMs tend to add that vet presence with a younger team.
Depends who he plays with but ya he's at the age where the production usually starts to fall off.
And you are underrating it....I never said anything about how many 40 point defenders we will have our top 9 is deep and will compete against teams like yours and maybe take away your slot

Well you're saying Ottawas defense is better so if it isn't better offensively than Florida's, you're saying it's better defensively?

Are you even backing up your own claims at this point or do we (@Beezeral) have to do all the work while you just disagree with the facts?

Florida wasn't that far off from Ottawa in terms of talent and man games loss last year.

Showed him this as well but he defined Florida as one of the healthiest teams haha.
Can't win vs this one, just disagrees and says it's their opinion...

Usually opinions should be backed by stats or some facts but seems more and more, most just say whatever they feel

If Montreal finishes with above 60 points, say goodbye to Bedard.

There's gonna be a lot of teams this year chasing him.
Well there’s still a lottery. Like even if you yank for him, you probably won’t get him

I disagree. Using actual quantifiable data is a way better method of comparing players than two random people on HF boards saying Player X is better than Player Y because they said so.
It doesn't really matter if it's quantifiable considering you clearly don't know or understand what it's quantifying. The charts try to encompass a lot of things and put out a graphic without explaining anything. You should be using data to prove things, but one number you don't understand being higher than another number you don't understand isn't really proof of anything. Your argument here reads like you want to be a math guy without doing any of the work. It's extremely childish the way you glide past specific criticisms of your methodology by suggesting critics of it don't have one of their own beyond a gut feeling. It's either disingenuous or just ignorant.

You also didn't address that they just take up a lot of space on the page and are annoying when you could just type the number you hold so dearly.

Its my prediction,FLD has lost too much from last season,s team...Ottawa in the same light has added far far more up front in nets and on defense

I think that you are assuming that all of those guys make more of an impact than likely will be.

for example both Giroux and Debrincat are going to play top 6 roles that other guys played last year so that spot they play in might improve marginally, say an extra 15 to 20 goals for and the Sens goaltending wasn't exactly horrible last year either.

Florida is still a stacked team compared to the Sens as well.

Weird every time I look at Detroit's D the more I think they would basically have just as bad a D as Montreal without Seider they have no depth there...

I think Buffalo has the weakest tandem in the east and that includes Philly who last time I checked their backup was trapped in Russia
Anderson 3-0 against the Leafs last season the only Leafs win came against Dell in a 4-5 gauntlet  thing is I've already seen the Sabres play behind a below average goalie in Anderson and perform well and win more than lose. With the scoring depth they added as well as defenseman their only big hole atm at skaters is a top RD for a top paring role the team can actually perform well with their bottom 6 and 2nd(probably 3rd) defensive pairings out there.

I mean if beating the Leafs 3 times is the ultimate goal then congrats I guess but the team still had 75 points , still finished 25 points shy of a playoff spot, and while teams that they did finish ahead of like Detroit and Ottawa actually did things that matter to get better.

Buffalo sat on their ass and watched Ottawa add Debrincat, and Giroux and Talbot.

they watched Detroit add Kubalik and Perron and Husso

and they get Comire and Lybushkin.

it's not enough,.

erven the teams that did get worse like Florida, Tampa, and arguably Toronto are still going to be better than Buffalo

8. Montreal - 63 pts - The Canadiens have a few bright spots but goaltending and spotty offensive output leaves their fans in agony. Allen is traded in December, out west, and it deflates what little hope the team's faithful had for this year; however hope still brews with Caulfield, Suzuki, and friends.
Only hope the faithful had/have is coming in last, and getting the 1st pick.
