Must not be a deep team if one player sewers your argument then?
Tell me how well any team,s offense would react to very same thing happening...Say FLD losing Barkov??Think Lundell could carry the freight??Think your 2nd and 3rd lines wouldnt be affected??I did maintain Ottawa had a deep team up front and I stand by this ,but there are injuries that can derail any team

Uh Barkov, Ekblad, Lundell, Marchment all missed a lot of time last year but Florida still put up 4 goals a game...

Even this year with all the subtraction, were still a top 10 team offensively.
Ottawa just isn't there yet.

Again,FLD did not lose any top 6 center for over 70 games...Norris had 35 goals in 50 some games and is our number 1 center...And was lost for the season not a couple of games here and there.. The season!! So I will ask again could FLD sustain an injury to their number 1 center for the season without their offense suffering??

Yes they could because they're a deeper team.

And if my grandmother had wheels, she would have been a bike.
Senator fans always seem to have excuses.
Yet even with this all this we are 7 point behind the Panthers with 4 games in hand...So while my team has struggled because of injuries which no one can predict...Your team is exactly what I have said it was... A fringe playoff team ,that could end up finishing behind us

Well apparently Ottawa has one of the hardest schedules ahead and Florida one of the easier ones but good luck.

We aren't finishing behind ya...

This statement has certain implications and I would not recommend using it in the future.

I'll use it whenever I please.

Dale Tallon can't hurt the Panthers anymore. He's waiting to take over in Vancouver when FA gets tired of Rutherford.

Meh.... Doesnt matter where we finish we will just add another top end prospect to our very long list of young skilled players...Fld will either barely make the playoffs as cannon fodder for a real playoff team or miss and watch the draft without a 1st..But hey you guys have cap space lol lol next season

Maybe you should just stop predicting things about other teams or your own because you're wrong a lot and just use excuse after excuse.

Barkov's missed time, so has Lundell, and Ekblad.

Panthers also have some of the best analytics in the league. Theit results just haven't followed. They are starting to though.

Everything points to the Panthers sub-standard results so far being a fluke. The same can't be said for Ottawa.

That would require Ottawa sweeping the games in hand which is unlikely considering their .510 pts% for the season...

It's always fun watching you assume best case scenario situations for your teams and the worst case for others.

So Barkov was lost for months ??Only to return for 2 games and then be shut down for the season??No wait that was Norris...Its fun to watch you preform mental gymnastics to try and disprove what I predicted about how the FLD Panthers ar a fringe playoff team and little else

Go right ahead, I'm just saying there's only one thing people do with a bike.
You tried.
Always great when people get defensive when you're actually being nice. It's probably not used much anymore but still... was the first thing I thought of - and cringed.

A question for leaf fans...I keep reading/hearing the leafs are looking to add a forward with the possibility of adding a D.

Reading this thread it's apparent most fans see an extreme weakness the goalie and D positions. Especially come playoff time.

Any concerns going into the playoffs with the D and goalies in place?

One of the big drawbacks of the current playoff format is how predictable everything is. At this point, I'd say its pretty much set in stone that the Atlantic playoffs will be:

Boston vs wildcard #2
Tampa vs Toronto

With the previous 1 vs 8, 2 vs 7, etc. playoff format, Tampa and Toronto would still be a likely but definitely not certain 1st round matchup. But more importantly, both teams would be trying to get as many points as possible to avoid Boston in Round 2. As it is, there's not much they can do, Boston will be their unavoidable Round 2 opponent no matter how well they do.

Granted, that Tampa-Toronto series is going to be really good.
