Lol ...And the Panthers are where exactly?? Ill take Ottawa,s situation anyday over a capped out team with no draft picks
It could just be the random ups and downs of the season. But the Panthers might be ascending.

Time will tell if they run out of steam.

Not gonna address your (Senators) top 9 or defense being better than Panthers comments?
Are you claiming its not better?? Not hard to see when both teams are healthy who has the better top 9 ...Defense is a work in progress for both but our,s is mostly due to inexperience..So ill stand by what I said

Toronto
Toronto - Has kept the same core pieces as last year

Tampa - Below Toronto because of the loss of McDonagh/Palat. The series went 7 last year, 2 of their best players are now gone with no viable replacement

Florida - The loss is bigger than you'd like to admit. Huberdeau, Weegar, Marchment, Giroux, Chiarot, Duclair (injured)

Ottawa - Great additions, young up and coming core

Boston - Older core and some injuries on the roster

Detroit - Up and coming team, just not there yet

Buffalo - Still figuring it out

Montreal - Tanking for Bedard

Boston bitch slapped this prediction, whether or not you like them you have to respect them.

Well Florida is scoring more per game and as you can see by the stats I provided, the Panthers forward depth and defense is outperforming the Senators players on offense.

Not entirely sure what you're standing on, the Panthers are the better all around team (albeit not by much as of right now) but it's basically two years in a row where this prediction of yours has failed to bear fruit.

In saying this, hopefully Senators management will chase Boudreau and continue to revamp the defense.
I agree the offense is pretty good, could be top 10 with more familiarity and chemistry being built.

Yep I did jump the gun as the kids obviously arent ready...But I also must remind you that Injuries have played a huge role in our early demise both seasons

I guess you haven't see the Panthers injury issues either.

Barkov, Lundell, and Ekblad have all missed time. That doesn't even include Duclair who hasn't played yet this season. It's funny you always have excuses for the Senators, but don't apply those same excuses for the teams you compare them to.

Had a chance to look at the cap space yet?

Panthers have 14 players signed and 12 million of space.

Players due a substantial raise?
None

Senators

12 players signed 16 million in cap space

Players due raises
DeBrincat
Pinto
(New Starting Goalie)

good luck with that extra 4 million in cap space.

Last time they had that amount of cap space they signed a back up goalie to 10 mil a year, I wouldn’t get too excited about next season.
Dale Tallon can't hurt the Panthers anymore. He's waiting to take over in Vancouver when FA gets tired of Rutherford.

Looks like a lot of people owe an apology to the Bruins and Sabres. At least for now.

Yes they Do.

Very much hoping for a Sabre Bruin match up...Of course I want the Bruins to win however I am a partial / bleeding heart fan of the Sabres. Being from Niagara Region I hope to see some Sabre/Bruin playoff games.

Sabres do worry me...they have the cap space and valuable trading assets to make some serious trades come playoff time.

This is right where most Sabres fans expected to be.
yeah. They’re exactly there. I couldn’t understand some people who had them behind Montreal. Detroit and Ottawa…I’ll listen to the arguments even though I didn’t agree because they were solid arguments based on quality additions. Buffalo’s step had to come from within so it was harder to project maybe. But Montreal?

I had them finishing above Detroit, Ottawa and Montreal. They’re going to take a run at finishing above Florida I didn’t project so maybe they’re even a bit higher than I thought.

1. Well Marchand is 34 and is going to miss a few months to injury. Missing your top point-getter from last year is no doubt going to hurt, and missing him for that long and hoping at his age that he can rebound quickly and get in mid-season form by December is optimistic.
2. Then, you're missing your #1 defense for a few months as well. Ask Montreal how it felt to lose their #1 defense last year. I know it won't be for a full season, but losing a #1D is a massive blow, and your right side on defense looks incredibly shallow without him.
3. Finally, you look at your top two centers: 37 years old and 36 years old, one of whom didn't even play in the league last season. They're fantastic players, but they are older and I don't think it's unreasonable to expect a decline from either of them, if not both of them.
..I don't think Boston is in a playoff spot by American Thanksgiving, so can they be an exception? Personally, with the age of their top 6 centers and injuries to key players, I don't think they will be an exception to that rule, and won't be able to catch the rest of the pack.

Of course I could easily be wrong, this is just a prediction and just for fun, so don't let it bother you too much.
Continued....

The reasons are always the same or Boston and Buffalo...

Boston too slow/old the Sabres always supposed to improve but don't.

Way too funny reading some of the takes in here.

Long ago admitted that my estimation of the Bruin injury issues was incorrect - that team is a well-oiled, purpose-built, vintage machine.

The Bruins might be able to collect social security and retire before the post season.
