What exactly do two sports governing bodies have to do with sports marketing in Europe?

They don't market their brand? Of course they do. And he also mentioned sport culture, which when it comes to FIFA and the IOC is notoriously corrupt.

Aho's goal is pretty much all there was, it's mind boggling at least why they have put cameras there at the first place.. to show a single goal in the insert?
Most likely that the players and coaches themselves can review the game. Feed to the public is secondary.

sounds fair :sarcasm:

To me personally, most interesting part of the tournament was there, gone, not seeing Matthews, Puljujarvi and Laine same time at the same ice.

When they do something, it is marketing of the sport. When they fail big time its bad marketing. What they do is marketing the sport in general. Marketing does not equal to advertising, which is just part of marketing.

FIFA don't have to market their brand or sport, there's numerous leagues around the world that do it. Again, why would attach FIFA and IOC into Euroepan sports marketing?

Standard reporting for Urheiluruutu, one camera that shoots some footage that has to be sent to Pasila before the show airs. Later one might have some goals. People need to realize that having one camera for reporting doesn't mean they have a broadcasting unit there as well.

Kapanen was good! He blocked a shot in the end which prevented ENG. He was using his strenghts tonight and was one of the few players who did something with the puck.

I read that Aho and Laine were the best Finns. Kapanen and Saarijärvi played well. Puljujärvi needs to find his game. I predict that after WJC everyone know why Finns have been placing Laine before Puljujärvi in draft rankings.

A few notes relayed from someone who was in the game...

-Kapanen apparently improved his performance from yesterday. A lot. The person I talked with said he was probably our 2nd best tonight, after Aho.

-Of the supposed key guys, Repo had an off night. Maybe he had too much to show in front of his home crowd.

-Siikonen was real good. Probably nailed the 4th line C job.

-Pulju looked lost, playing 2nd fiddle to Laine.

-Saarijärvi was golden.

-Keskitalo had a solid, mistake-free game too.

-Mattila was absolute garbage. His pair Vaakanainen may have some growing up to do as well.

-The rest were playing pretty much as expected.

I read from Jatkoaika, that Aho was Finland's best player, and Laine was pretty good alongside him, meanwhile Puljujärvi was underwhelming. Repo was trying too much, according to the poster (I'll add link afterwards). Kapanen was playing well, blocked an empty netter and was playing with his strengths. From defense Saarijärvi and Niku stood out, and Mattila, Mikkola and Sopanen were bad. Kähkönen's not injured, or at least it's highly unlikely. Larmi was doing warmups 5 min before goalie change.

Any of these articles mention anything about team USA? How were Dvo and Matthews? Was Tkachuk noticeable? How was the defense?

They aren't articles, but first-hand intel from people who were present. And since they were Finns, well... you can guess where the focus was.
