First period in Pelicans jersey

Why would they not? It's not free to go and watch the game, so why should the broadcasting rights be free?

For example to create free hype. if u aint gonna broadcast it in any case, let some small / other channel or VeikkausTV do it and advertize the u20 4 free for you. You can see that the Arena is well sold so it seems to have solid interest. Not every one there are HC fans.

I'm dying to see that game. Don't care if it's exhibition or not. Just too bad we're not Canada and streaming everything.

We should really get some american or canadian tv-people to show how a sport is really marketed..
Just a minute now. It's national team hockey, free, on a national government-funded channel.

This is Finland. How exactly do you figure that needs marketing in the first place?

But as it's government TV, they could have a giveaway for rights to games they wont show anyway (as they don't have to fear about competitors getting something from them). Or a bidding contest, if thats more respective for market laws.

American sport culture/marketing is the worst cancer there is. Please none of that here in Europe.

I mean showing the exhibition games that are getting a lot of interest from the hockey fans in Finland and internationally aswell. Getting cameras to these two games would be a very positive sign of having sense of marketing.

Except these are not games of said tournament, so they're probably not part of the package.

And the point still stands. You don't need to display these games to market this tournament, especially given who's showing it. Not in Finland.

They have declined to have ads in the jerseys, though. It's a great thing.

Ads>>>commercials every 5 minutes. Though i agree it's great they haven't not done the ads thing but i think it will change in a couple years unfortunately.

Actually in Canada maybe. In the USA once basketball starts it's like trying to find cricket on TV. Almost all hockey is either pay-per-view/subscription or cable only here anymore.

We've started to get some college hockey on some of the cable channels but even that is haphazard and random in many places.

Fortunately, most schools do their games on the internet - but those too are subscription-based.

Both USA goals have been scored while Vaakanainen - Mattila D pair have been on ice. Given how they weren't the frontrunners to make the team in the first place, I'm starting to sense those two are getting cut.

4512 specatators. Really good number since Pelicans average have been little over 3500 this year.

Veikkaus TV airs games where someone else provides the feed.
