GDT: Pre-tournament • Dec. 22 • Finland vs. United States

On top of that, Finland will be wearing jerseys of the Lahti Pelicans, since Finns and the US only have blue jerseys. Officials have no idea about players' jersey numbers, so I don't know if the stats watching is useful at all. Basically everyone outside the arena will only know the final score.

Broadcasting pre-tournament games isn't up to the organizers. YLE also has all their stuff set up in Helsinki now at the arenas so when you understand YLE's financial situation, they're not going to haul their broadcasting units and pbp people to Lahti for an exhibition game.

All they need is 1 camera and if they want a clown/mascot Kaj Kunnas should be cheap.

When one considers YLE's financial situation compared to other broadcasting companies, this looks even worse. The camera is already there, it's always there. All they'd need to do is pay a namely price for the organizers for showing the game, and have one guy stream it to Areena. No need for pbp, I'd rather be without.

Because of hype. Because of marketing. Because I want to see the game. And I pay YLE tax. And I'll drive all the way to market square if they don't broadcast an exhibition game. And because mommy I want :cry:
 
YLE either does things all the way or doesn't do at all. And you kinda have to understand 'em here. These games are not worth the full production, and while it would be relatively easy to stream the game for peanuts with no no pbp, using whatever potato present, they don't want people to think same quality will also apply to the final tournament.
 
USA leads 1-0 after first. They scored their goal from infront of the net. They also had a few other chances but Kähkönen had some nice saves. Milano was good. Nothing spectacular from team Finland.
 
This is why apps such as Periscope have a future. Demands are not being met and anyone with a mobile phone can potentially broadcast an event (obviously production quality for ice hockey will be lacking).
 
lol this would suck I feel lucky that Canada broadcasts every pre-tournament game on like 4 TSN channels:laugh:
