I'd really rather not give up the best player and a firstMarner + Samsonov + Bruins 1st
For
Connor + Hellebuyck + Lowry
They won't trade Svechnikov for older guys on 1 and 2 year contracts. Most of these are unappealing IMO. You also left out Svech, however unrealistic that may be.
I can't see Carolina letting go of Aho either, but I'd have most interest in him, Svech, Pesce and Jarvis.
Yes we should keep your boy willy who disappeared for at least 25 games each year.
Willy will be 100 per cent the one to go.
He will hold out again and price himself out of the leafd
Tonight will show if Marner will ask for a trade and Matthews or Nylander will effectively as well by declining to sign new contracts. If the continue to roll over and die, that should speak volumes. If they show up and actually compete, I expect Marner and Matthews back, Dubas gone which leads to “option” to sell off Nylander for a 1st
Yeah well could be I just can’t think of how you could get anywhere near comparable value/player, or at least one that isn’t of the Marner/Matthews mould (despite my wanting him gone). For me I almost prefer the pick, prospect route and then use the money to fill his spot with a UFA, get double or triple the assets even if inferior. If they do trade Nylander it probably won't be for picks. It'll likely be a hockey trade

I wish they could have pulled off Tkachuk instead of Florida but obviously he wanted out of Canada and we didn’t have a Weegar to throw in. That’s the kind of roster player I’d want for Nylander; or, perhaps there’s a true top 2 D they could target but who might be available?
He can potentially be traded for an older player (like in the same foosteps as ROR) or a lesser player signed longer term too. Not that I think it would necessarily be a good trade, but I just don't think whomever is in the front office is just going to move guys for question mark picks at the moment. Perhaps the best case scenario would be for a younger top 9 player who hasn't quite broken out yet
Personally I'd look at moving Marner first given his valuable term and greater caphit if they were to make a shakeup trade.
I really hope the main piece in any moves involving the big 3 is not an older player. The Leafs need to get younger and faster ASAP.He can potentially be traded for an older player (like in the same foosteps as ROR) or a lesser player signed longer term too. Agreed. Depending on the outcome of this series I’d let Bunting go and RE-sign ROR. I’d look at Rodrigues in UFA and potentially Zucker depending on price.Maybe i'm overthinking it, but I don't think you need to go out and trade for a big time goalie. Chances are Samsy has been playing hurt for the better part of the year. Get rid of the Murray contract and run Samsy and Woll next year.
Collectively they should come in together around the Murray contract.
I'd take the Kerfoot/Holl contract to really upgrade our forward depth. Maybe it's used to try keeping ROR and Bunting, but I also think we need a lot more speed on our wings.
Yeah, there's little moves that can be done that can make us even better next year. Without getting into trading one of the core.Ag

I work with a few people in the NHL world and lots who are connected to players during the off-season and those Paul Marner dad stories are indeed true. He doesn't do his son any favors at all.A guy I know who works in media told me that the Leafs wouldn't actually mind parting with Marner; his dad's a giant PITA.
I heard this back when he was here with the Knights, but does anyone know if there's real substance to this?
Yes, he was intrusive back in London and the first few years here but that's over.A guy I know who works in media told me that the Leafs wouldn't actually mind parting with Marner; his dad's a giant PITA.

I hope for Marner's sake he has told his dad to f*** off and take a back seat. I bet Mitch would probably take less if he could go back.Yes, he was intrusive back in London and the first few years here but that's over.
He pretty much dropped out after the contract negotiations and isn't really involved at all any more.
If they wanted to part ways they would have no trouble doing so.
He did.I hope for Marner's sake he has told his dad to f*** off and take a back seat.
great regular season goalie ...if Anderson gave people nightmares in the playoffs, then what would Helle do for us?Marner + Samsonov + Bruins 1st
For
Connor + Hellebuyck + Lowry
Oilers will trade him if he refuses to re-sign there. He won't come cheap if he leaves Edmonton.Do posters still believe mcdavid will leave the oilers and come home to the cesspool Toronto media and fans. Media shits all over the team. Fans actually threaten players and their families
Mcdavid will stay away from this shit show
