Picks 1-16 are for non-playoff teams, order pending the draft lottery, and then by regular season performance.
Picks 17-28 are for teams who go out in the first or second round, ordered by regular season performance. With BOS being 1st OA in the regular season, they'd be last in that slot - 28.
Picks 29 and 30 are for the Conference Final runner ups, by regular season order.
31 is for the Stanley Cup runner up.
32 is for the Stanley Cup winner.
Thanks. So we upgraded our pick from 32 to 28. I’ll take it.

I love our team and I want to focus on the now, but for fun can you imagine the leafs top 9 if we had Hyman instead of Murray's + Kerfoot 8 million cap hit.

Ha. I said at the time, it was a challenge trade(a). Make the playoff moves, upgrade the first (albeit very slightly).
Still on pace (knocks on wood)

Not really in the dog days of summer yet but does anyone see Robertson with the organization beyond this summer?

I'd say we might as well hold onto him and hope he gets healthy/produces seeing he most likely doesn't currently hold much value in a trade.

Almost similar to the Jays and Nate Pearson where his overall value is so low in comparison to his actual talent level, that you just have to continue to hold onto the prospect and pray it works out.

Absolutely... as per @weems his value is so low, that we might as well keep him. He has one more year of waivers eligibility, so there is currently no rush. Just give the kid some guidance and a good offseason, and maybe he turns into something for us.

If he doesn't pan out next year, then he's done here for sure though.

I was thinking the best asset is availability - maybe if another team had a change of scenery prospect, there would be a trade there.

Both of your views on the situation is probably the more realistic point on it. He's still able to go down to the AHL at least.

There's really no need to sell a prospect in his lowest form. Still waiver exempt and I would never bet on him... he's a work horse. If there's a good value trade that includes Robertson, I'm sure it's something the Leafs will consider but I don't know? We'll see how things look in the off-season.

Leafs need all the ELC value they can get. Knies and Robertson would be terrific LW depth after Bunting likely outprices himself from staying.

Disagree, IMO there have been two major issues with Robertson's development- rushing leading to out of touch expectations and rushing leading to injuries. Combination of both have contributed to a grand total of 31 NHL games and 51 AHL games from U20 to U22. That's two full seasons of development time lost.

It's tricky with a guy that's pushing so hard and has been so close to breaking through, but I think it would be best if we could hit the reset button and he comes into this season with the plan/ expectation to be with the Marlies for at least 40 games. Spend a half season getting 18+ minutes a night against men, lots of reps, lots of consistency. No yo-yo, no scratching, no playing up and down the lineup. Doesn't need to break camp with the team until fall 2024, so let's use that time and develop him.

I thought based off pre-season he was gonna make the team and maybe had a chance to give us 30-45 points, maybe 15-20 goals if he got PP 2 time.

The problem is his attitude is he's gotta be up for he wants to be traded.

I'm not sure what you've disagreed with me on, except you've suggested he doesn't need to break camp until Fall 2024, which is fair I suppose.... I've suggested he has waivers, suggesting time with the Marlies is a possibility. If he can't break onto the team, by the end of this year, even after spending substantial time with the Marlies, I'd think he is done here... but you never know.

I haven't looked around the league very closely, but swapping Murray for an expiring forward who can fit the top 9 (3rd liner?) would balance out the roster. Of course, if you can give away Murray for free, that also works. It also would provide some flexibility for another Marlie to crack the line up a year into the future.

The quick emergence of Knies at his low cap hit is quite the homerun for the next couple of years. I also wouldn't mind extending Bunting at a reasonable price, at least you know what you have with him. That sets up the top 2 lines nicely. I like Jarnkok with O'Reilly on the 3rd line, just have to find a winger to compliment them.

Here is where I'd start at for next year... Plenty of options to fill that #1LW spot, including Bunting, or a host of available trades... though really, if this is your opening night roster... just leave the cap space available and accrue, to see who is available later in the year... if it's not Bunting anyway.

I've been thinking of something similar although I wouldn't be surprised at all if Nylander is traded this off-season if they think going into the draft there is no chance at an extension.

You can't let him walk for nothing.

Matthews also kinda dictates how it'll really go but I think the playoff series win and how he looked with the series win, so happy.

D pairings for next season:

Rielly Schenn
McCabe Brodie
Giordano Liljegren
-------- Timmins

Give Schenn a 3 or 4yr @ 1.5-2m

With Robertson the value of betting on him to turn things around is much greater than selling him for pennies on the dollar. UNLESS it's for another reclamation project that the internal scouts/numbers guys are super high on

Terrible question to ask in the middle of a playoff run, but this summer, would you consider Nylander for D. Toews?

Big Toews fan here, would love to bring him in.
