After yesterday Brodie and McCabe seem like a lock to be together. Holl and Rielly can't play together so Liljegren will most likely be there if Schenn isn't. If Holl is playing then I can only see him playing with Gio tbh.
It will be 28-32, the draft order goes like this:
7.5 million for a player on the 3rd pairing would be really bad. I dont really do t see it happening, plus Gio shouldn't be seeing tons of minutes before the playoffs in my book. I think you will see Lily on the third pairing to be honest, Keefe doesn't seem to fully trust him yet
He didn't look too bad with Schenn, but of course I'd like to see a bigger sample size since yesterdays game was very hard to keep track of d partners since we ran with 7 D. Rielly and Liljegren haven't looked too bad together either.
I'm not sure I can really rank all the mediocre names that moved today. You are as capable as I am to look through the deals made today and see if there a player moved that you think the Leafs should have acquied.

There’s a reality where Rielly is paired with Schenn and still plays 20 minutes/night. I just put them down on paper as the 3rd pie because they are realistically the least reliable pair of the bunch.
I think they may cull up a Marlie like Holmberg or McMann until Kniew arrives and try them on the 4th line.in place of ZAR some games.

This culture is why we’ll never win with this management. If Rielly or Matthews aren’t bringing it, they need to be bumped down for someone who’s bringing the fire.
While that is true and works in the short term you can't be having that much cap tied up in a guy your deploying as a 3rd pairing defenseman
I'd say the third line and third pairing are quite different but i understand what your saying.
It's possible that none of Holl, Liljegren and Schenn are in the playoff lineup for every game (particularly if the team goes on any kind of run).
Ya I figured they would somewhat arbitrary but I just don't like the idea of having the most expensive defender who makes 3 times more money than any other defender other than Brodie on the worst pairing. Just seems like bad cap management. Gio may not return next year depending on how things go so Rielly would slide up a spot regardless

In what way? I think if Rielly is going to be deployed as a 3rd pairing defender you have to move him. Can pay Guss 8 times less money to be a offensive 3rd pairing defender
