No thanks on JVR. Too slow and poor defensively at this point in his career. Right now we have 4 lines that I’m comfortable out on the ice in any situation.
A JVR-Tavares-Marner line would need to be sheltered defensively

Only way I'd consider is if 13F, 5D was a thing.

Like I understand people who didn’t want to depend on having Knies as a playoff upgrade. But with the additions we have made anything Knies brings us is a luxury at this point. Still some people refuse to think it’s possible he could have an impact.

Exactly. And even worse, it would mean the Leafs couldn't sign Knies as they would have no cap space for him without major moves for cap savings, and depth depleting moves.

Garland is a good low cost buy with retention.
