Don't change the subject.

This is who Boston has played so far:

Chicago x2
Anaheim x2
LA
San Jose
Nashville

They've had BY FAR the easiest schedule in the league.
yes,

but in there is the California trip and 3 games in 4 nights.

those trips are often a bloodbath for eastern teams. The time zone, the fatigue. To rack up 6 wins and 1 over time lose so far is impressive.

The Sens and some other Eastern teams have been home or close to home. Most of their games have been single day trips.

travel and win is still impressive.

They played on Oct. 14th at home and then started their California trip on Oct. 19th against SJS. There's almost no conceivable reason to believe time zone adjustment or fatigue played a role.

Okay? Y'all were saying "well, these are the easy teams" when we had our 3 game win streak against Washington, Philly and Tampa.
Throwing some scenarios out there:

If we had the same schedule do you see us having a similar or the same record?

If D.J. Smith was the head coach of the Bruins do you see them having a similar or the same record?

If answering truthfully I think you can concede that the answer would be a flat no.

This team needs a complete reset. Replace the GM. Replace the coaches with those with proven winning experience in the NHL. Recognize their will be a reset and some time required to get the players to tighten up and bring more discipline to their play

This should have happened 2 years ago. Now at least we have some capable leadership in place to allow this to happen. I believe it will. I think its about the optics of being fair right now. Dorion has shot himself , DJ seems to be doing the same.

Why on earth would everyone be so angry about Martian?!
He said

"Thing X, which almost all intelligent Sens fans have been eargerly anticipating since the day Conman Melnyk died is happening right now"

Then followed up with

"Actually no"

When you play insider, you gotta follow the basic rules of not claiming something is happening when you aren't 100% certain.

We are angry because he got our hopes up that Dorion was finally going to end up..... on the street and he let us down.

Friedman just mentioned on Jeff Marek show he's hearing there might be a GM change going on right now, needs to do some more digging to confirm.

On-ice results notwithstanding, Pinto/cap situation notwithstanding, possible Dadonov repercussions notwithstanding - he'd deserve it just for how cringe he is during important public-facing events like the Anderson retirement availability. He's just the worst, and it has to drive successful self-made Andlauer and buttoned-down Steve Staios straight up a tree.

check out the historical results for eastern teams in California. And for eastern teams in the Canadian west (and Seattle now).

these trips are brutal.

Now, granted, the warm weather plays a factor. Players tend to grab golf clubs and bathing suits.

In the end, doing a 3 in 4 days in LA and then SJ and win all 3 is still impressive.

And then Boston flies to Chicago, a 1 hr time zone change and again win.

6-0-1 with 4 road trips and both with time zone changes.

check out the Sens the last 2 years or so. Western conference games (in the West) have been often losses

I get the impression over the years it is a "hit the ice and hope" after some basic coaching that has led to the same result year after year! Time is of the essence as the Sens learned after being so close to the playoffs last year. No time left to give PD and DJ any more chances.
You don't want to be out of the race again in November and the new ownership knows this loud and clear! Another loss next game and there will be a shakeup. Change is inevitable. Why not now!

I'd be fine to miss the playoffs again this year, if we get a new GM and Coach and look to be making progress finally. At least then there would be some hope for the future.

There's no point in missing again with the same crew. Our roster isn't created properly. We have too much skill and not enough workers in the top 9 and not enough defensive minded D on the back end.

So, you were wrong about the time change, fatigue factor and all that "gruelling" nonsense. They were fresh and playing mostly basement dwellers.

Feels like the time is right for the clean sweep. Time is of the essence. Need to see how the players react under a new regime and allow the new GM to evaluate before the deadline.

Feels like a huge opportunity to bring in a breath of fresh air for this group and let them play. Learn some new things and really show the fans and new management what they are made of.

Staios should take over the GM role. As for coaches, I am not sure who would be the ones to consider at this time. Any suggestions and rationale?
