Great you guys got rid of him.. But what you guys gave up to get him.. Was... well... you know...

As a banker, Juneteenth has been amazing since I get this random day off from work. Now I get this gift. I love this holiday.

Blake still sucks hard. He'll still eff this up. I'm resigned to the fact that they won't win with him as GM and have been for a long time. I just want to actually like the damn roster and be in a place again where I'm excited to watch a game because something exciting might happen v. most of what we've had during the Bluc era.

Removing this bum from my eyesight is just such a big win in this regard. Him getting punked by Hartman and then trying to save face by shoving Faber afterwards was just so embarrassing. Just such a complete waste of size and talent. He may put up points in Washington but it was never, ever going to work here. Worst place in the league for a first ballot Lazy Hall of Fame player with a giant guaranteed contract is here in LA.

So QB is obviously moving back to center so a 4th line of Grundstrom-Byfield-Lee while Lizotte centers Fiala and Laffy, right?
24 million dollars in space and we only really need to re-sign QB.

So let's say we give him 5M, we'll have 19 million for a 3C, bottom six physical forward, and maybe an upgrade on LHD.

Not sure what will happen with the RW spot with Arvy likely leaving.

Wow, fantastic trade, ironically I can see him putting up points in Washington, but the Kings had absolutely no path to winning with him and his salary on the roster. It is a positive that BLuc admitted defeat and got rid of him, but it is easily a net negative that they paid so much for him in the first place ....

I don’t think he’ll do very well in DC either. Even if you don’t care about politics there’s a whole lot going on there. Tons of distractions the same as here.

Dubois wasn't the problem though. Blake is the problem, Dubois was a symptom.
Seriously, I don't know what this fool still has the Kings GM job.
I can't believe anyone who compliment Blake on this trade and give him props. He's the freaking fool who brought PLD in when nobody wanted the guy....and gave up a ton to get him....and promptly gave him 8/68 without seeing how he'd even fit.
Some people have really low standards I guess. Or maybe it's just Kings fan glutton for punishment.
He keeps on hiring coaches and firing them. Yet he sticks around. Let's pat him on the back for firing Koala again why don't we

This was a good move for both teams, IMO.

The way I look at it. PLD has two realistic outcomes for next season

He is Richards 2.0
He returns to previous levels and is a decent 2C

The first option is obviously a disaster for the Kings cap, not only in the present but even into the future with a new GM stuck with that albatross. But even option two wouldn't be great either, it's overpayment of a player who is never going to move the needle for a team lacking star talent like the Kings, but he also isn't going to be bad and help the tank, it's like the NHL's version of Kirk Cousins.

I'm really curious to see how he does next year, part of me thinks fading Blake is a smart move and I might invest in some PLD bets next season.

I'm sorry....WHAT??
complete 180 from a few weeks ago, at least he's taking the onus on himself now instead of putting it on the coaches. PLD never fit this team...not sure what team has a culture where floating for the majority of your shifts is acceptable
