I think they want Matthews, Nylander, and Andersen for Gargoyle
if they can get him, you move on from Andersen

I LOVE the idea of earning the right to pick your opponent!honestly the best idea which will NEVER happen is the call out method.
1 vs 16 ranked.
1st overall gets to choose opponent.
2nd overall etc.
that would be the most incredible thing. You could literally have a playoff draft. Teams could weigh travel, injuries head to head.
Would NEVER happen. But imagine the ratings.
The caps could chose the 8th in east due to travel. Or whatever BS pacific team gets in..
I LOVE the idea of earning the right to pick your opponent!
But I see one huge problem: Boston would pick the Leafs every year, and we'd get even more *****ing, whining, moaning, groaning, and complaining here about how unfair the system is than we do now.
Why would it take 100 points to get into the WC spot ?
Is that just your opinion or is there some information to back that up (Serious question, would be interesting to see if there is info) ?
If they continue on their pace since Keefe they are pacing at 102-103 points.
Again, where is the 90-94 points from ?
You can take away the 90-94 that was me mostly being gloomy on the leafs. But the 100 points is still true.
Florida-63 points with 31 games left. 18-13 gets them 99 points
CBJ-65 points with 29 games left 17-12 gets them 99 points
Phi-65 points with 29 games left 17-12 gets them 99 points
NYI 64 points with 32 games left 18-14 gets them 100 points
Not currently in playoffs
Carolina-63 points with 30 games left 18-12 gets them 99 points
Leafs-63 points with 29 games left 18-11 gets them 99 points
Those records arent very hard to achieve for any of the teams. None of these teams can afford a losing streak. It may actually be one of the years where a 8-2 run to end the season gets you 98 points but you still miss because one of the teams ahead of you goes 9-1 and gets to 100.
Now at least one team is going falter and maybe 1 more but unlikely all these teams collapse to .500 hockey. I also didnt include loser points which makes 100 even more likely
Pts % | Current Points | Games Left | Total Points | % to get to 99 points | |
Florida | 0.618 | 63 | 31 | 101.316 | 0.581 |
CBJ | 0.613 | 65 | 29 | 100.554 | 0.586 |
Phi | 0.613 | 65 | 29 | 100.554 | 0.586 |
NYI | 0.64 | 64 | 32 | 104.96 | 0.547 |
Carolina | 0.606 | 63 | 30 | 99.36 | 0.6 |
Leafs (Keefe) | 0.683 | 63 | 29 | 102.614 | 0.621 |
Good breakdown, here is a different way of looking at it.
Here is a quick chart I made up:
Shows the pts % of all the teams you mentioned (Full Year) vs Leafs (Under Keefe). I think we can all agree that the team has been much better with Keefe as head coach.[TBODY] [/TBODY]
Pts % Current Points Games Left Total Points % to get to 99 points Florida 0.618 63 31 101.316 0.581 CBJ 0.613 65 29 100.554 0.586 Phi 0.613 65 29 100.554 0.586 NYI 0.64 64 32 104.96 0.547 Carolina 0.606 63 30 99.36 0.6 Leafs (Keefe) 0.683 63 29 102.614 0.621
I've included the points % teams need to get 99 points, so some of these teams could fail to get 99 and still have a winning record.
Obviously Leafs need to have a strong finish, but as you can see there, if everyone keeps their pace, Leafs could end up ahead of all of them except NYI.
Also, Leafs could get to 99 having a worse winning percentage then they currently have under Keefe.
Yep, so thats why I think this year 100 points is what you need to get to ensure playoffs.
Dont we still have two games left vs Florida? I dont think it's quite that dire.Time to key in on the wildcard spots after that joke of a game last night.
The Leafs play them two more times. Their next game against them is later this month on the 27th in Sunrise and next month on the 23rd in Toronto.Dont we still have two games left vs Florida? I dont think it's quite that dire.
Watching the Panthers/Jackets right now.
Since the Islanders are now in a Wild Card position themselves what does that say about their season, considering they had a 15 game point streak and dropped out of top 3 in the Metropolitan. You know the Leafs are in dire straits when we used to scoreboard watch Boston and Tampa and now it’s Florida, Columbus, Philadelphia, Carolina and the Islanders.

I agree 100% with you about that and I think they have a toxic fan base.I personally dislike the Islanders and think they suck.
Can't help but laugh
Jackets need to win here
